Meet Sheila Wyatt and Anna Lindberg of Peachtree City Myofascial Release

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sheila Wyatt and Anna Lindberg.

Sheila and Anna, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
We began our separate journeys as myofascial release therapists and business owners about seven years ago, but our stories begin way before that when we were actually patients of this work. Myofascial release addressed a variety of physical and emotional issues for us, and we knew we had to share this gift with others. We both completed schooling in massage therapy (one in Pennsylvania and one in Ohio) and took numerous courses in the Barnes’ Approach to Myofascial Release. Over the last several years, we’ve practiced independently, but upon relocating to Georgia, opened an office together in Peachtree City in May 2016. We have a special bond as a mother-and-daughter team, and thoroughly enjoy working together to educate our community about the benefits of myofascial release and how it’s different from every other hands-on modality out there!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Every road as business owners is a bit bumpy. Thankfully, our training has been top-notch, and clients love the gentle, non-invasive approach to resolving their tension and pain. The biggest struggle we face is educating people about this work because it contradicts the “no pain, no gain” mentality that a lot of people buy into. Even though it’s gentle, it’s the most effective therapy for long-term relief. Another struggle we have is explaining what myofascial release actually is–a lot of people assume it’s a massage or something to do with the face! “Myo” means muscle, and “fascia” is the connective tissue in the body. The myofascial complex should be soft and flexible, but it becomes tight and hard when the body experiences repetitive motion, trauma or surgery, which puts enormous pressure on the body’s structures, producing pain and tightness.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Peachtree City Myofascial Release – what should we know?
We specialize in a gentle, hands-on therapy that addresses pain and tension throughout the entire body. It’s called myofascial release, and more specifically, the Barnes’ Approach to Myofascial Release, as taught by John Barnes, PT. We treat a variety of dysfunctions, including back and neck pain, migraines, sciatica, hip pain, carpal tunnel, and TMJ pain. In addition, we can help athletes improve their performance and increase flexibility–basically anything to help people return to or maintain an active, healthy lifestyle! The biggest thing that sets us apart is that myofascial release is gentle, never forceful, and never injures. It’s the safest, most effective soft tissue therapy available.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
We attribute our success to knowing and using a modality that actually produces long-lasting results. When our clients experience amazing results, they tell everyone they know, and word-of-mouth becomes our best friend!
