Today we’d like to introduce you to Shelena Omokaro.
Shelena, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started making Handcrafted Herbal Skincare in the kitchen of my home. I started right where I was with what I had in my hands. After researching harmful chemicals that are included in children skincare products. I decided to begin making Whipped Raw Shea Butters for my children to use to moisturize their skin. At the time, I was in school studying Fashion Marketing and Design.
A few years after earning a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Marketing and Design. I founded Diaryofqueenesther.com. The purpose was to create an online platform where clients and customers can shop Dope, Regal and Quality Clothing. Additionally, they can have access to organic skincare.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No, it has been rough road (smile). I remember sitting on my bed and telling God it’s too hard. Entrepreneurship is a daily challenge. I remember hearing the words, “It’s never easy for the paver”. In that moment, God had provided revelation between those who pave the roads and those who will travel upon it. I was created to pave the roads others will travel upon. Hence, this assignment is attached to solution building. Additionally, understanding the art of creating something out of nothing. It’s the essence of service work. It’s never easy. However, creating something that will help others fulfill their lives purpose is worth the work.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m an Inspirational Stylist. I work with my clients from the inside out to help them identify their God-given purpose and style. I’m also a fashion designer and a skincare crafter.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
It gives me joy when I can help others understand their God-given purpose. Understanding why were created brings much peace and joy. I love to see others get to that place where they are truly at peace and understand their purpose.
