Meet Shequenda Andrews of Rags to Riches Hair Collection

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shequenda Andrews.

Hi Shequenda, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had a passion for hair whether it was getting mine done, trying to do others or selling it. I decided back in 2020, I was going to make my dream a reality with becoming a local hair vendor and being able to be in reach when someone needs hair extensions of any length and texture. I’ve always wanted to enhance the beauty of women near and far. I won’t lie at first, I was so scared and on edge but I had to put my trust in God I definitely didn’t feel like anyone would support me. I took my ideas and concerns to my awesome husband, Gevonta Andrews, who told me I had to believe in myself and that he believed in me and would support my vision. Also, he said that being scared wouldn’t get me anywhere in life and that if I didn’t try I’d never know just take the leap and trust God so here we are a few years in still doing the thing and doing it well!

In this journey, I’ve learned so much and experienced so much. I have become more consistent with my posting about my products on all social media platforms I’ve reached so many other potential customers. I’ve sold over 1000 units and bundles by the grace of God, my hard work and dedication, also my customer word of mouth and positive feedback has actually gotten me as far as I am today; my customers show me so much love not only to me but to other people for me I’m very grateful for each and every one of them.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been easy it’s just like any other business it has its highs and lows that’s why I try and execute a plan you know write it down and make it plain. I have to see everything I won’t to do down on paper just to know If plan A doesn’t work, I have B and C for backup but honestly, my drive keeps me going. I think for the most part my business has been consistent I’ve been consistent every minute everything second of my day I make it count so I can make my business stay as smooth as possible. I have noticed that things don’t always go as planned even if you plan and that’s ok because I know it won’t always be smooth or tough running my business. Other than that the road has been easy so I have no complaints at all.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the Owner of Rags to Riches Hair Collection. I specialize in top-quality hair whether it’s closures frontals bundles and or wigs I have it and guarantee you won’t be disappointed. I and known for hair line I have many great reviews on the quality of my hair customers who have been purchasing from me since I started. What sets me aside from others is I’m my own motivation. I go above and beyond to see my customers satisfied and to get my job done to me, this is more than just about the money; it’s to make others happy and service their needs. I offer Bodywave, Straight, Deepwave, Loose Deepwave, Waterwave and so much more hair textures short and long I have them all contact me I promise you’ll never be the same.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
In the next 5-10 years I can see myself doing business all over the world that’s definitely a goal of mine as I have shipped to about five different states so far so in the near future I can definitely see my business going international. I want to get into some more things trending wise but I’ll keep that under wraps. I am thinking about networking with some other stylists so I can provide them with the hair they need to accommodate their customers I want to go beyond just my city and a few of the states I’ve shipped too. Also expanded more of my learning about dying customizing and installing the units and or bundles. By the grace of God, I’ll do so.
