Meet Sherman Harris of Roze Gld

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherman Harris.

Sherman, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Growing up in P.G. County, Maryland, sports were my thing. It was almost my complete identity. Throughout my childhood, basketball took the place of everything that wasn’t in academia and I fell in love with the sport. Fast forward a few years, basketball and football bled into my school life as well. Fortunately, I was able to compete and end my playing days at the Division I collegiate level playing football. Throughout this journey, I formed some of my closest friendships and networked with countless people. After school, I gained some great experience working in the finance industry. Between my passion for sports and experience working in finance, I had the foundation and the right toolset I needed to start my own management firm. Today, Roze Gld has grown into much more than just a management firm – I have everyone in my corner to thank for that.

Has it been a smooth road?
Of course not. Prior to the company’s official launch, gathering the resources and the knowledge to effectively run this type of business was a challenge within itself. Post-launch was an obstacle as well. I’ve written an article on LinkedIn titled, A Short Script: Three Things I’ve Learned As A (6-month-old) Business Owner, to explain the tough challenges of being a new business owner. I touched on some of the important things I feel every new business owner should know. One of which was understanding the nature of the management/consulting business. In the first six months of operations, I had no clients. This was not only challenging from a financial perspective, but it also tested my confidence. Throughout every humbling experience thus far, there has always been light at the end of the tunnel. I live by my father’s words, “If it was easy, everybody would do it!”

We’d love to hear more about Roze Gld.
At Roze Gld Management, we help athletes and organizations both create and improve their business ventures. Our services range from creating innovative marketing plans and implementing them into campaigns for improved business performance, to providing customized plans for athletes to create alternative sources of income outside of competing in their sport. We build websites for our clients and we work with clients to help them reach their goals in business. We take pride in providing support for athletes to maneuver confidently in the business world.

We incorporate our three pillars into everything we do. We promote wellness through our relationships with our clients and business partners as well as through our parent company and Non-profit, The Roze Gld Foundation. Wellness is an important pillar of ours because it embodies the overall health of an individual, which we take very seriously at Roze Gld. We offer a more personal approach to our line of business, promoting wellness through actively connecting with our clients and providing different streams of opportunities to achieve great health.

Longevity has always been something that has been longed for in our communities. Here at Roze Gld, it is a staple in our process and something that we promote heavily through our fully customizable plans for each of our clients to operate as long as possible. We want longevity to become a commonality amongst our clients and our communities.

The last pillar of ours, Prosperity, allows our clients and communities to enjoy the fruits of their labors. We strive to put our clients and communities in a position to thrive. This pillar assimilates both of the other pillars in a way that brings everything together. Bringing wellness and great health and combining it with longevity and endurance allows clients and communities to prosper brightly, something that we take pride in producing for others.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I think Atlanta is a great city. There is plenty of opportunity in a city like this, especially for young minority entrepreneurs. There is plenty of culture in the city to find a niche and provide a product and/or service to meet needs and wants.
