Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Sherterica Hall.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Dr. Hall. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
After graduating high school in Los Angeles, California, I had all intentions on being an Interior Designer. Unfortunately (well, fortunately actually), the program at the school I was attending never developed. Changing courses, I moved back to LA and attended Massage Therapy school. While I was in Massage Therapy school, I fell in love with the human body. It is amazing what our bodies do daily, especially on a subconscious level. I decided to dive in deeper by attending Chiropractic School. Before attending, I was under the impression the Chiropractors were just for back pain or car accidents. I had no idea how dope this stuff really was. Once introduced to the philosophy and the principles of Chiropractic, I knew I was headed in the right direction. I had suffered from knee pain on and off for two years prior to attending Chiropractic school. After one foot adjustment, the pain went away. Now I was hooked, and couldn’t wait to tell people how dope our bodies are.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has been a journey. Getting through Chiropractic school as a single mom is a feat in itself. I wouldn’t refer to them as struggles, more so moments of enlightenment. In school, we are taught that you have to design your office a certain way, you have to present yourself in a certain manner, and treat your patients a certain way to be successful. Basically, the only way to be a successful chiropractor is to do it the way that was presented.
That script never resonated with me. It was molded for the “good ole boys” and clearly, I am not that. I have learned that people resonate with authenticity and truths. After graduating, I moved to Michigan and opened my first practice. I was secure in who I was and how I wanted to run my show. At least I thought I was. Somehow I became afraid that people wouldn’t accept the real me, and I reverted back to the script that was given. I didn’t work. I wasn’t showing up in my truth and nothing was congruent. I fell into depression as a result and had no interest in running my practice. After some therapy (mental health matters), I realized what needed to be done. So I moved back to Georgia and decided to commit to showing up in my truth and being authentic AF at all times. I’m dope as hell!
We’d love to hear more about your practice.
I provide holistic wellness. I am a Chiropractor and Reiki Master. I provide chiropractic care, energy healing, and aid in the process of releasing emotional traumas. I help you align the mind, body, and spirit. Yes, I will take care of your back pain, but I will also help you understand what caused the pain on a subconscious level.
Do you feel like our city is a good place for businesses like yours? If someone was just starting out, would you recommend them starting out here? If not, what can our city do to improve?
Yes. Every part of the city is growing. More people are moving here, which means more people to serve.
