Today we’d like to introduce you to Shiamber Pierce.
Hi Shiamber, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m the owner of Drippin Accessories located in Virginia Beach, Virginia but originally from Montgomery, AL. I remember one day I was shopping through the city trying to find some accessories to match an outfit I was wearing that weekend. I searched everywhere but couldn’t find anything that would officially seal the deal and have the outfit looking top tier as I envisioned it. So I started bouncing ideas off my head to my Fab 5 best friends about starting a business selling accessories and they were like “Do it!” So March 2019, I officially launched Drippin Accessories! I remembered starting off by selling brooches, earrings, fanny packs and belts and from there it took off. I had no idea I would impact my hometown the way I did. It felt amazing providing affordable accessories that couldn’t be found in the stores. I felt like I was making a difference while doing so and providing the perfect statement piece for any outfit. Today, three years later, I’m still doing just that – providing the best quality accessories around.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Speaking from an entrepreneurial perspective, I don’t think “smooth road” fits into any of our vocabulary. Entrepreneurship is hard work, patience, dedication, and perseverance. As an entrepreneur, there can be amazing days where you could have 20-50 orders. Then there are some days where you struggle and only get two or none at all, but you have to keep pushing regardless. I would like to say: Even through the times when you don’t have all the answers or you have sleepless nights because you have goals to meet, you have to remain motivated, prayed up and faithful knowing that your time will come where you’ll sell out daily. Entrepreneurship is not an easy path, but the journey I encountered along the way has made me who I am today.
We’ve been impressed with Drippin Accessories, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Drippin Accessories offers a variety of accessories such as Earrings, Necklaces, Bracelets, Anklets, Watches, Rings, Hats, Fashion Glasses, Sunglasses, Bonnets, Scarves & more. We’re literally known for being a girls’ one stop shop when it comes to accessories. We even offer items for men too certain times throughout the year. I think what sets us apart from others is we sell a variety of affordable items and offer nothing but the best quality accessories – we’re definitely top tier. I’ve witnessed our accessories give women their confidence back and that is one amazing feeling. Honestly, a feeling that just can’t be summed into words.
I’m proud to say that I can provide accessories for woman that allows them a variety of looks to choose from when they are ready to step out. Whether it’s date night, girls’ night, or just a self-care day, I love being able to help someone feel and look their best when out and about.
How do you think about happiness?
Being around family and friends makes me the happiest person ever. There’s nothing like being around true, genuine people that love you just for you and want to see you at your best in life. The love I have for the family that I grew up with, down to the family I’ve created, is unmeasurable. When around my family and friends, you’ll definitely leave with so much knowledge about life and feeling loved and appreciated. But most of all, you’ll leave with your cheeks being sore from laughing so much because you’re guaranteed to have a good time when in their presence. They keep me going and are my reason for everything I do.
