Shiana, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Coming out of a HORRIBLE relationship!… I had just baked some cookies for my boys while hanging up the phone with my ex, asking if he could pay a light bill that was due in an hour!!! I slammed the phone down and said to my oldest boy!! We’ve got to think of a million dollar business to start boys!! My oldest son held up a freshly baked cookie while drinking his milk!
As the night passed, I thought that could be a great idea… seeing that all my children like different goodies in their cookies. I thought that the world was in need of a customized everything to do with a cookie shop!! I started the company in Las Vegas. I had my goodies in the Sugar Factory on the strip, in restaurants, different casinos. It was a hit!
I had always been attracted to Atlanta, plus, I didn’t feel like I could really grow in Vegas! So I packed up and moved to the south! From then until now, I have been sooooo blessed and grateful for the support and open arms of you southern folks!!! I have really grown my business here! My own food truck, cart, shared kitchen and now my SHOP!!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
OMG!! I’m a single parent to four kiddos… So long days and nights, food truck breaking down on us all the time! Searching for co-packers, not enough sleep!
