Meet Sia Stewart of Savvy Business Consulting, Inc. in Downtown Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sia Stewart.

Sia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and an MBA in Finance, I began my career at a Fortune 500 company as a corporate accountant and after a few years, worked my way up to finance manager. I eventually transitioned accepting a role as a senior project manager and returned to school to study the nuances of marketing. During my time in corporate America, I learned a great deal about the day-to-day operations, funding, and expansion of large corporations. I was amazed at the financial tools that were not common knowledge to the masses but were routinely and successfully used to generate start-up capital. Eventually, I learned that many of these methods could be used by anyone with proper coaching and mentoring.

Every new skill I have learned in the workplace affirmed my desire to empower others with this valuable information. In 2014, I launched the Savvy Consulting Firm, offering full-scale business development for small businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs. We assist our clients with sourcing start-up capital, implementing accounting and financial systems, streamlining costs to increase profit margins, facilitate process improvements to increase productivity, and employing marketing strategies.

The road to creating a consulting firm has been a roller coaster ride full of success stories and teachable moments. I have not only found freedom in entrepreneurship, but I also feel blessed that I have the chance to facilitate opportunities that are not readily available in my community. The rewarding feeling, I receive from helping someone take a dream from idea to reality has been life-changing for me. Starting this business has offered me a sense of purpose and has allowed me to utilize my vision for entrepreneurship and economic growth.

I love what I do! More importantly, I love who I do it for.

Has it been a smooth road?
Starting Savvy Consulting was not a smooth road. I began my business while I was employed full-time so the early stages were very challenging due to time constraints and limited labor resources. I have been hired by clients with large-scale projects which limited my ability to grow my client base until I was able to secure added resources or complete the large-scale project. At one point I slowed down my business growth to focus on corporate endeavors that would eventually allow me to once again open my doors and offer a broader range of expertise and services.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Savvy Business Consulting, Inc. story. Tell us more about the business.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In the next 5-10 years, I believe there will be a large increase in the number of every day Americans looking to explore entrepreneurial ventures. As the cost of living across the country continues to skyrocket, creating second and third streams of income is becoming more necessary than ever before. This will increase the demand for business development and venture capital consultants.
