Meet Sid DeVon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sid DeVon.

Sid, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Born and bred “church boy” from a small city in Indiana. I moved here about ten years ago. I’ve always had a heart for people and wanted them to live to their highest potential I’ve always thought that only reason why individuals never succeed is because of inspiration and motivation so I took it upon myself to do something about it that’s why I started my brand it was previously named L.A.M.E inc. (Living Awaiting My Eternity) because of my childhood being a pk (preacher’s kid) I was made fun of a lot because of my heart for the church, I was there wherever the doors were opened. Now, of course, it weighed on me and that’s when God gave me the idea to turn something negative into a positive and L.A.M.E inc was born. About two years ago, the name was changed to evolved I was no longer that church kid but I had changed into a man that had experienced life. In a two year span, I had my Grandmother and two cousins within a month of each other, I experienced homelessness amongst other things and I’m still experiencing things but I am still here I have evolved and I’m still evolving and that’s what I’m about that’s why I use my gifts (singing, songwriting, designing, writing, and motivational speaking) to inspire and motivate the next to help them get to their highest potential.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Definitely, self-doubt was a big one. I lost people along the way because they didn’t have the same mentality. Dealing with things like homelessness. Yeah, it’s been a hell of a ride, to say the least.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Evolved by Sid DeVon – what should we know?
Well, what Evolved is about… it’s about the betterment of my folks’ man. I use all that I have… Music, Graphics designing (fashion), writing, and motivational speaking just lift all people up to show them there is something amazing over the horizon you just have to get through your process. A lot of people who follow me know me as “The Mogul” when you here that title what do you think of? A person with a lot of money? What do I think of when I hear it? Motivator, a person who inspires, an individual who invests in dreams and that’s what I’m most proud of and that’s what sets me apart of others.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
It’s a lot of individuals who have contributed to me being where I am. My Pastor LaBryant Friend (All Nations ATL) this man is a huge inspiration to me. Pastor Adrian Davis (All Nations HSV) The man is a true mogul and he’s brought a whole new swag to the pulpit. My mother Lucretia Marsh for always believing in my dreams. My late Grandmother Lela “Faye” Wallace she was my biggest fan and critic. My late Father Herman Trooper Sr. who was the first to teach to always dream big just to name a few it would literally take me a lifetime to thank everyone.
