Today we’d like to introduce you to Sidney Holmes.
Hi Sidney, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am originally from an area outside of Houston, Texas. I was raised in a matriarchal family where intent, purpose, and hard work were instilled in me at a very young age. I knew if I worked hard, success would follow. Hard work was never an issue, however finding purpose is something I personally struggled with. While in college, I started working in residential property management, where I loved to help residents flourish in their new community. The passion to help others has always burned inside of me. Having been blessed with an entrepreneurial spirit where I value innovation, creativity, and risk-taking, I began feeling stagnant and knew I needed to do something different.
After graduating the University of Texas at Austin, my husband and I moved to Atlanta to start a new journey and be closer to family. We fell in love with the Smyrna area and purchased our first home. I enjoyed the process of purchasing our first home so much that I knew the real estate industry was where I needed to be. I wanted to provide other first-time buyers with an experience that was even better than my own. I obtained my realtor license in 2021 and joined the Hester Group who are brokered with Harry Norman. I have been working as a full-time realtor ever since and could not be more in love with a career where my mindset and values are fostered daily.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Leaving behind everything you have ever known is never easy. Moving to the other side of the country to a new city is always a challenge but also rewarding. Being a realtor the past couple of years, especially on the buying side, has been challenging with market conditions in and around Metropolitan Atlanta. In real estate, you are constantly pivoting and adapting and for some, that can be a difficult obstacle to overcome. There will always be challenging times in my line of work, but that makes the successful times that much more enjoyable. It’s a challenge to be positive all the time but I make that a priority daily.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have the best career in the world. I make housing dreams come true. I am a full-time licensed realtor with the Hester Group at Harry Norman REALTORS. I work all over the six core counties in the Atlanta Metropolitan area. I focus primarily on first-time buyers who are new to the market, however I help all buyers and sellers with any real estate needs they may have. I pride myself on the dedication I have to my clients in making sure they are informed and delighted with their real estate needs. Whether you are buying for the first time, relocating, looking for a vacation home or to sell your home, I am here for you!
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I think the biggest lesson for me was to make sure those in my life whether that be family, friends or clients knew that I loved and appreciated them. It was also hard to be positive in unchartered waters where no one knew what was next but by spreading positivity to others you never know whose day you turned around. Being kind, patient and providing grace has been something I feel all of us has learned through the crisis.
