Today we’d like to introduce you to Sidd Stamps.
Sidd, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Growing up, I had a deep passion for poetry. I would spend HOURS glued to my computer watching Def Poetry Jam. It amazed me how the simplest of words could evoke the most complex emotions. I began to write notebooks and notebooks full of my own poems but it felt like there was something missing. At age 13, I discovered the missing piece-instrumentals. I combined those words with the most vibrant melodies and it was at that moment that music became my first love.
Over the years, I worked diligently on my craft, dropping songs on SoundCloud that I never really expected anyone to hear. As time progressed, I started getting a little recognition and all the fears and insecurities died out & I knew that this was what I was born to do. I never had anyone to teach me how to record vocals or how to mix & master, so I had to learn on my own. I also couldn’t afford studio time so it was the only way I could get my music out. I spent hours and hours dedicated to teaching myself the ins and outs of the music business and learning all the skills I would need to become successful. It wasn’t until this year that I realized I didn’t have to rely on anyone to do what I was capable of doing. Whether it’s photography, videography, editing, anything… I taught myself how to do it. That’s where STK STUDIOS comes into the mix. I believe that we all have a gift and with that gift, we are to help others in whatever way we can. STK STUDIOS is a company that assists growing entrepreneurs in making a name for themselves. We specialize in photography, videography, music production & clothing design. I am giving others the opportunity I didn’t have. All of these services come at low rates to allows these entrepreneurs to pursue their dreams without breaking their pockets. With hard work and dedication, I believe STK STUDIOS & all those who benefit from our services will come out on top.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Most definitely not. I was my biggest enemy for a very long time. I’d have people in my ear telling me how great I was but then, I’d look in the mirror and see the exact opposite. It wasn’t till recently that I built up the confidence to reach my full potential. You cannot expect others to believe in you when you don’t even believe in yourself. If you want it, go get it. I realized I don’t want a plan B. If I have a plan B, I’m expecting to fail and won’t work as hard for plan A. This music, this company. This is my life and I’m dedicated to making the best of it.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the STK STUDIOS story. Tell us more about it.
First and foremost, I am an artist. I’ve been putting into this craft close to eight years now. I dropped my EP S.I.D.D. May of this year and it’s been looking up ever since. I sing, rap, and provide a unique sound that is pleasurable for multiple audiences. As an artist, I’m most proud that I never gave up. I stuck with it and that hard work is finally paying off.
Secondly, STK STUDIOS was created solely for the purpose to assist upcoming creators like myself. It’s not all about the money, it’s about building relationships and that’s exactly what I plan to do.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I have the worst luck – at least it seems like it at times. But recently, I discovered the power of prayer. Whether you are religious or not, whatever your beliefs are… having faith takes you a long way. Whenever I’m down bad, I never worry because I have yet to fail. I know I’m in good hands.
