Today we’d like to introduce you to Sierra Brene.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Where do I begin? Well, I was born & raised in Conyers, GA. I started out as a dance minister at the age of 10 under the direction of the late Rev. Dr. Veronica Flanigan. Her studio was based in Conyers, but we traveled to many churches and conferences around the state and country. Being under her training, that’s where my love for God grew, and my own ministry began being cultivated. Liturgical dance was foreign up until I joined her ministry. We received some of the best trainings by the best dance ministers, learning the meanings of colors, meaning behind types of dance along with the scriptures.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There were definitely some challenges along the way. Of course, being a young church girl came with its conflicts and trials. Wanting to go to games, dances, parties, but also realizing I had a call on my life.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in liturgical dance training. And I most proud of the legacy that I’ve come behind with Anointed Dance Steps Academy and Rev. Dr. Veronica Flanigan. I’ve also made a positive impact in many churches and my community.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Keep God first and set yourself apart. Don’t follow the trends, but seek training. You can’t do it all alone.
