Today we’d like to introduce you to Sierra Parker.
Hi Sierra, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
Hello and welcome!
My name is Sierra Parker or as most refer to me “Sie” or “Ms. Paaaaarker” (lol) and I’m excited to share a glimpse of my life with you. Born in Monroeville, AL where “To Kill a Mocking Bird” was filmed, and raised in Schertz, TX where this concrete rose emerged. I have always had a bigger-than-life personality but with that, I still enjoy and need time to isolate myself, create, revise my purpose, and recharge.
Currently, I live in San Antonio, TX I have a 12-year-old son named Parker Noah (soon to be 13, OH MY) and a beautiful dog named “Tank” (he is huge & Parker’s best friend). I’m not married but dating with a purpose (smile). I love to travel and see the world with friends and loved ones; I enjoy honing my skills, being a midwife to other visions & dreams, and making a positive impact in the world. Innately, I’m a creator & innovator, I’m always working in my mind, but I never take on anything that I’m not passionate about. I am the creator behind many brands as I have many talents. I never want to feel like a caged bird so no one will tell me that I can’t explore them all. Well, here’s where it all began……
Entrepreneurship for me, was birthed in February of 2018 when I was blessed with the vision of creating an atmosphere for women to thrive, heal, and come together as one for the greater good; Queening in MY Purpose (Q.i.M.P.) was born. I shared my vision with my best friend Rachelle Smith, COO & President of Q.i.M.P. and we began our journey. Queening in MY Purpose will celebrate 6 years this year of serving the community of San Antonio and surrounding cities. We are thrilled with the LEAPS and BOUNDS this organization has grown since we opened our virtual doors.
Professionally, I am a Senior HR Leader/Director of Organizational Development (Learning & Development focus) which I LOVE. Thankfully, I’m able to align my passion for advocating for people, mentoring, coaching, and teaching with my professional career so I never feel like I’m bogged down with work because I LOVE IT.
Having a passion for all things beauty, fashion, and being a creator when COVID struck in 2020 I had LOTS of time on my hands to think about “what’s next?” Again, not wanting to corner myself into one thing I decided to brand myself and ALL things will align under this umbrella, iamSierraParker The Brand LLC was born. iamSierraParker The Brand LLC houses the following businesses: K.Simone’s Boutique (Owner, Fashion Buyer & Stylist), Sie’Luxe Brows (PMU Artist & Instructor), ConcreteRose Consulting Firm (CEO) and ConcreteRose Talent Management (CEO & Talent Manager). All my businesses align with enhancing a human in some form or fashion. K.Simone’s Boutique was awarded “Boutique of the Year” in 2023 at the Texas Trailblazer Awards sponsored by Texas Minority Fashion Week. Entrepreneurship is NOT for the weak. You will have 10K days and ZERO-dollar days and at the end of both of them, you still should LOVE what you do and remember your why.
As previously stated, I’m a midwife to visions and dreams. I thrive in helping others turn their vision into reality. I tell people all the time, that everything isn’t for everybody, so focus on what you’re good at and appoint resources in your areas of opportunity. One thing in life that’s imperative is that YOU are your only measuring stick. Social media can drastically skew how you view your success, don’t let it. Everyone is posting their WINS, no one is posting their losses, so how can you measure your life against consistent wins without understanding that challenges are BAKED INTO every win? Find solace in the FACT that there will be highs and there will be lows, YOU NEED BOTH to continue evolving, growing, and learning!
People | Ensure you surround yourself with people who believe in you and can share in your joy without envy in their hearts. As success comes, you will find your circle of peers, friends, and associates will change; that’s ok, it should. There will be a select few that will go all the way with you, but believe what people show you THE FIRST TIME. Envy and prosperity cannot live in the same place, so be mindful of those around you but also be mindful of yourself. YOUR CIRCLE is a direct reflection of you, so who do you surround yourself with? You’re a sum of the 5 people closest to you, you do the math (smile). Keep God first in all things and move authentically and with a pure heart and THE REST WILL COME. Don’t count the dollars and cents, KEEP WORKING, and you’ll look up and wonder, Lord, how did I get here? I don’t even remember the crossover; I was focused and now here I am.
In closing, I want to share a quote I live by “When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, ‘I used everything you gave me” – Chadwick Boseman.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For the most part, yes because I understood that WHATS FOR ME will come, nothing more, nothing less. I never worried about the return, only that I was aligning with my calling and offering great customer service to my clients and those who trust me with their investments.
As an entrepreneur disappointment comes from time to time, but again, that’s a baked-in learning curve. Take the highs with the lows and KEEP striving. If you believe in what you’re doing, YOU HAVE THE MAJORITY VOTE, go for it!
We’ve been impressed with iamSierraParker The Brand LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Great questions, I’ve highlighted the majority of what I do, however, I want to share details of my new business, ConcreteRose Talent Management Group (CRTM). CRTM launched on January 20th, 2024, with an elite group of entrepreneurs and creatives. CRTM manages FREElance Talent ONLY.
Our purpose is to take the logistics and administrative burden out of the talent’s hands and to provide an atmosphere where talent can focus on developing and honing their craft. Our mission is to provide a professional logistics and talent management platform with representation for “Freelance” talent. I created the executive team with individuals who share in the purpose and mission of CRTM: Rachelle Smith, Chief Financial Officer | Brittany Neichele, Talent Development Consultant | Gary Bowie Jr., Stylist & Model Coach | Darryl Edwards, Media Director, and K.Day Gomez, CRTM Press Liaison. This group is diverse, and all offer an extreme amount t of talent in their area of expertise.
What sets CRTM apart from other talent managers is that we’re not an agency and our unique business model is dynamic. We offer a service that many creatives need and shouldn’t be locked into a contract to receive. We love what we do and are selective of the talent that we represent, we operate in excellence and take what we do seriously. Ha! This is a good one, as outgoing as I am and as much as I love people, I LOVE my alone time equally as much. I exert so much of myself daily that I genuinely need time to RECHARGE so that I can continue to evolve in what I do best. I REQUIRE IT! So, there will be times that I completely withdraw, and most people don’t know how to take that, it’s not personal AT ALL, I just need time to get back to me so I can get back to you.
A fun fact, I mentioned that my best friend and I enjoy traveling the world together… WELL, we have created an IG to showcase our travel, experiences in different cities, and reviews of foods, venues, etc. BEST FRIEND style.
