Today we’d like to introduce you to Sima Abbasi.
Hi Sima, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have always loved art and wanted to be involved in the art world. I also wanted to be able to make a living from my work. When I entered the world of cosmetology, I had no idea that I was going to fall in love with the medium and the industry. I’ve been a stylist for 31 years now and I am so thankful to have found my place in this career.
I started my own salon company because I felt like I should do more and become part of something bigger. It has been an amazing experience to grow something like this from scratch.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I don’t think anything is ever really smooth. I tend to be old school in my way of thinking. I believe that nothing valuable comes easily. Building something requires hard work and a heart for service. You have to see the beauty in everything and the beauty in what you create.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Zeba Hair Salon?
Zeba Hair Salon has two locations in the heart of Marietta, GA and East Cobb, GA. Zeba is known for consistently giving people their dream hair while protecting the integrity of their hair. We are proud to have several different staff members with a variety of different expertise. We are also lucky to be working with several wonderful brands. We have a close partnership with Kérastase, L’Oreal Professionnel, Shu Uemura, Bellami Extensions and Nutrafol. We really stand by these haircare brands because the quality of the products is unmatched.
One thing that Zeba Hair Salon does that is a little unique is our work to reduce our carbon footprint. We have partnered with SalonCycle, a program run by TerraCycle. Thanks to SalonCycle, we are able to recycle everything from hair, to excess color, to highlighting foils, and several other types of waste. It has really helped us eliminate the amount of waste that we produce as a company.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The biggest lesson I have learned is to do everything with kindness and love. It doesn’t matter what happens in life, but if you do everything with kindness and love, you will not regret anything.
