Meet Simone Merritt of Enomis Consulting Group LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Simone Merritt.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey is rooted in a deep passion for people and organizational growth. I built my foundation with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of West Georgia and later earned my Master’s in Human Resource Management from Columbia Southern University. Over the past 14 years, I’ve navigated the complexities of the HR landscape, ultimately stepping into my current role as a Sr. VP of HR.

But my corporate career is just one piece of the puzzle. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit and a drive to build things from the ground up. Over five years ago, I founded Enomis Consulting Group, LLC, where I serve as the Sr. HR Consultant. Giving back to the community is equally important to me, which led me to become the Founder and President of Tomorrow’s Promise Foundation. Beyond the boardroom and my foundation, I love creating educational tools—from writing a financial literacy curriculum for high schoolers to authoring a children’s book series. Being recently honored with the Career Mastered National Women’s History Leadership in Action Emerging Leader Award was a beautiful full-circle moment that validated the work I’ve poured into all these different avenues.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road! One of the biggest challenges has been mastering the art of the pivot and the balance. Navigating the demanding, high-stakes environment of corporate HR while simultaneously scaling my own consulting firm requires a massive amount of discipline. When Enomis Consulting Group was getting off the ground, learning how to be a practitioner, an executive, and a business owner all at once tested my limits.

Additionally, trying to drive impact through Tomorrow’s Promise Foundation, writing books, and pursuing my CFP designation means my plate is always full. The struggle has often been avoiding burnout and learning that it’s okay to recalibrate my boundaries. Every obstacle, though, has ultimately sharpened my leadership skills and made me a more empathetic HR professional and consultant.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I like most: Atlanta has an unmatched energy and a deeply rooted culture that I absolutely love. It’s a phenomenal hub for entrepreneurs and professionals, offering so much opportunity to build community and grow a business. On a personal level, I’m a huge fan of the sports scene—there’s nothing quite like the atmosphere of cheering on the Hawks, Braves, and Falcons. The city just has a dynamic, vibrant spirit that is hard to find anywhere else.
What I like least: If there is one thing most of us can agree on, it’s the traffic! The gridlock, especially during rush hour or when there is a major event in town, is definitely the most challenging part of navigating the city.
