Today we’d like to introduce you to Sincere Street.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hey, I’m Sincere Street but I go by Sin. I went to Pebblebrook high school and Lindley middle school. Where I played football. I was pretty good but I leave that to people to judge. But my sophomore year, I was hit hard. I was 16 years old. And I ended up having a baby. It was hard maintaining school, football, and my son (Sincere Jr.). My mother helped me through it all. Even me and her not on the best of terms, she helped me from calling off work while I go to school to taking him to daycare when she couldn’t call off. And I’m thankful for her. It was so hard to where my councilor helped me when I had to take him to appointments or when nobody can watch him.
They gave me my work and scheduled me for after-school tutoring so I can be caught up. I ended up graduating high school with a 3.0 GPA. And attend Georgia State University, where I want to major in graphic design. Through all of this, I was battling with my epilepsy. Which I was diagnosed with in my sophomore year. And I recently got engaged to and an amazing woman named Autumn. She’s also been a major help of motivation. She’s amazing with kids and that’s a plus. She’s also going to school to become a teacher. Me and mother had bumped heads so my fiancé’s mother let me stay with her until I’m able to get back into a stable environment. And that’s how life is going right about now.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I had faced epilepsy, so it was certain things I couldnt do or had to be cautious of. I tore my hamstring my junior year and the recovery took a long time but I was so eager to get back on the field I still did just that. Feeling depressed because I kept doubting myself that I wasn’t going to make it. My mother being diagnosed with Crohn’s disease and watching her fight through it. Moving from house to house because we couldn’t find a stable home.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m in college for graphic design because I can draw. I’ve been drawing since I was like eight years old. And I was told I was very good at it so I would love to get back at it. I’m 6’4 so I’ve always stand out.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was always interested in animals. I used to watch animal planet 24/7. Then I started to get interest into sports and art. And since then, my eyes been focused on that.
