Meet Smiley Creates of Wealth Savvy in South Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Smiley Creates.

Smiley, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My brand started in high school from personal up and downs. Just trying to find my way through life figuring out what I wanted to do, furthermore not being able to do what I wanted to do because of prior decisions. Feeling as if I had more money (Wealth) or if I was smarter (Savvy) I wouldn’t be in the position in. Not to say it was a bad position but it wasn’t exactly what I wanted.

My first venture into bringing anything to life was buttons/pins then on to sweatshirts. I had no idea what I was doing just creating content, putting it out an then seeing reactions. Not only were the reactions amazing but I figured I had a gift for evoking emotion through clothing and lifestyle pieces.

Basically, I got to where I am to today by stop stopping. I’ve seen many many brands come and go, consistency is by far the key.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Of course not but I learned some of my greatest lessons in my downfalls/mistakes and I learned them early. I’m forever grateful for that.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Wealth Savvy story. Tell us more about the business.
My brand is a lifestyle brand. I create streetwear mostly. As far as what I specialize in and what I’m known for, I would say Atlanta/South Atlanta based clothing. The support that I get year in and year out is what I’m most proud of, I have a lot of longtime customers so that lets me know I’m doing something right. The authenticity and consistency of my brand is what sets me apart from others, always doing things my own way and never stopping.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
The moment I began not to care what other people thought in my creative process. It uses to bother me very much so and I valued the wrong people’s opinions over the years. I would say before it was bad luck but now it’s good. Just seeing what I was able to do when I stopped giving peoples word and thoughts so much power over the way I move and think as far as my brand goes.
