Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Jones.
Jessica, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve always had a passion for arts (music, dance, hair) but, it wasn’t until my freshman year in college that I discovered a love for makeup. I started off with just four makeup brushes, a few eyeshadow palettes, and youtube. I didn’t think or expect to make a business out of a hobby but, the more I started to learn the more I became passionate and sure that this is one of my many callings.
Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I had little to no support at the beginning which was very discouraging. My best friend allowed me to do her makeup a few times which made me learn from my mistakes and continue to grow as an artist. I literally had nothing at one point in time and I used what few materials I did to make ends meet. I practiced and still practice on myself every day and eventually I began to get booked and noticed by people which helped me gain confidence in myself and my abilities
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Snatched By Jess story. Tell us more about the business.
My business right now is solely about makeup. I plan to further expand my name and my brand to all genres that excite me. I am passionate about a lot of things but, right now, I want to take the world over with my makeup artistry. I have a youtube channel where my main topic is makeup but I’d love to make that more so a job for me sooner than later so that the world can get to know me who I am and what I plan to offer to the world with my looks and personality. I have been through so much in my 26 years of life, I ultimately just want to be a positive influence for others to never quit no matter what
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see makeup growing bigger than ever. It is so many opportunities in the beauty industry these days because of all the movies and shows being displayed now. Also, because social media is so widely used by many a lot of celebrities reach out to MUAs for assistance which helps the beauty world stand out even more with our own unique talents. I don’t see any major shifts in the industry except continuous growth.
