Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephan Hite.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Stephan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I got started in real estate my senior year in college in 2013. I began to see all of my friends paying these outrageous amounts for rent for apartments, homes, and condos and thought I want to own these buildings not live in them. At this time I had no idea how to get involved in real estate especially being a broke college student but it got my wheels turning and a passion in me that would manifest years later.
Fast forward to 2015, I actually began to learn more about real estate by attending local investment groups. I learned a very tough lesson early, in that you can’t trust everyone. Especially in this industry. I found myself being “mentored” by a scam artist and a crook. Thankfully I realized what was going on and was able to get out before I lost as much money as a few of my friends did. I thank God for shielding me from that.
In 2016, I got my real estate license and have been building my business as a Realtor and investor ever since. What I love most about it is the relationships I’m able to build, serve clients, and do it all with my family!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road! But I know it’s part of my calling. The biggest struggle to this is understanding that this is a real job. I know that may sound confusing but many people do this job because of the glitz and glamour they see on HGTV. So what I mean is that I had to understand that I have to work extremely hard in order to have a successful business or I would fold. No longer could I coast and still get a check in 2 weeks. I now realize I’m the CEO, marketer, administrator, and every other title you can think of in a company.
The other struggle I had to overcome is managing money. I had to learn profit/loss statement, ROI, budgeting, taxes, and how money works in general. I think most businesses fail because they don’t understand money and can’t control bad spending habits.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Hite Homes Real Estate – what should we know?
My company, Hite Homes Real Estate, is a real estate company that buys and sells homes. We specialize in buying distressed, boarded up and unkept properties and making them beautiful again. We also specialize in assisting first time home buyers, as well as clients that want to sell the home they have been in for years.
What I’m most proud of as a company is that we have a servant’s heart in helping people. For us, it’s more than just real estate transactions. It’s about creating high-quality, memorable experiences, and walking our clients through some of the biggest decisions of their life. I believe our genuine love for people is what sets us apart from the rest.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My wife deserves so much credit! She had faith in me, even when it meant leaving my secure job at the bank with a newborn baby and no money in savings. Her support is what keeps me going when things get rough and I even start to doubt myself. She also has amazing ideas and helps me build relationships with clients.
I also have to give credit to Randall and Sarah Walker, Todd Javery, Isiah Fowler, and my church family. All of them of contributed to my education in learning this business and supporting me to keep going.
Most importantly I have to thank God for giving me this passion and sending me every client, relationship, idea, and the like. I know that without Him, none of this is possible.
