Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Daniel.
Stephanie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I always wanted to start blogging but because I was in school full time I never really had the time. After I graduated from Pharmacy school in 2016 I started my blog Stylish Pharmacist. My blog initially started as a fashion blog, I blogged here and there for two years but wasn’t really consistent and never really considered it a business. Once I had my son in 2018 I rebranded as a motherhood lifestyle blog, and started blogging more consistently and turned my hobby of blogging into a 5 figure business. Recently I also started blogging about my DIY projects and home decor @HomeWithTheDaniels.
Now I currently work full time as a pharmacist, and also blog full time.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road! When I first started I had no clue what I was doing. I had never started a website before or never pitched or negotiated with a brand before, I definitely had no experience with photo editing. But this is something I was passionate about and really wanted to do, so I spent hours learning lots of new skills in order to be successful. I made lots of mistakes along the way, but I also learned so much about myself and the blogging industry.
One of the hardest things for me has been finding the time to create content between working full time as a pharmacist and being a mom. I have learned that there is no such thing as balance. It is impossible for me to prioritize everything, so I am working on blocking off specific time for different aspect of my life, and I try to always make sure that I always block off time to spend with my family.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As a blogger I work with brands and create content for them by producing videos or pictures, writing blog posts and promoting their product and/or services on social media.
Aside from blogging full time I also have a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree. Getting through pharmacy school and getting my doctorates was one of the proudest moment of my life. Becoming a pharmacist has made me passionate about natural medicine and treating the body as a whole.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
If you are passionate about something take the leap and do it, the worse that can happen is that it doesn’t work out. We tend to feel like we have to fit into this box that society or even our family have made for us, but we don’t. So start whatever it is you are passionate about, even f you have no clue what to do or how to start just start somewhere, and turn that passion into a business.
