Today, we’d like to introduce you to Steve Willis. Steve was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Julia Agnew.
Steve , can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started with a cellphone! My sister had a photoshoot and her photographer didn’t show up. I captured everything with a 3G iphone and a lamp. The response I got from the photos was enough for me to go out a purchase my first dslr camera. The t3i. I practice for 3-4 years straight. It was my new creative outlet. A shot everything from fashion to landscapes. Wherever and whoever. Eventually I settled on portrait, fashion and beauty photography. After 8 years I’m still in love!
Please talk to us about your creative work and career. What should we know?
My art is always evolving, I grab inspirations from everywhere. I prefer to shoot artistic expressions. As a fashion photographer I’m at the mercy of my clients although I do try to add my spin as much as possible when I’m not shooting to a brief. Jewelz (Julia as you may know her) is a ball of positive energy! Very organized and keeps me on my toes. I met Jewelz at a creative birthday/content shoot, when I say we clicked (pun intended) it was magic! She progressed as a photographer and a model at the same time! Her work ethic is inspiring.
