Meet Steven Carse of King of Pops in Inman Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Steven Carse.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Steven. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
King of Pops was founded by Steven Carse.

After falling in love with the traditional paleta in Latin America, King of Pops was started with a single pushcart on the corner of N. Highland and North Avenue.

It didn’t take long for the community to start supporting us. We worked really really hard, and tried everything at least once (including flavor suggestions). As we started to find more success, instead of kicking our legs up, we reinvested all of our money and energy into growing a company we could be proud of.

We have a lot of fun at work, try our best to be environmentally conscious (we bought a farm to grow some of our ingredients a few years ago), and hope to become a special part of the Atlanta community.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Everything has been tough, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. Everything that is worthwhile is difficult. Hard to remember that when you’re in the middle of it, but it’s true.

King of Pops – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We make fantastic pops! We focus on really good and healthy ingredients and interesting flavor combinations. We like to have a lot of fun with our community and invite them to be a part of the process too.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Our authenticity is our most important characteristic for sure. It’s important to us to keep our flavors interesting without unnecessary ingredients. We definitely believe you should be able to easily read the ingredients of what you eat.
