Meet Sunday Eason of Rome, Georgia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sunday Eason.

Hi Sunday, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My love for the arts, specifically photo/video and dance, started when I was in elementary school. I was always fond of stories and telling them through different mediums. Eventually, I took the leap to audition for the dance program at The University of Alabama where I received a BFA in dance as well as a BA in creative media in 2020. I loved dance, but had come to find that career path was not for me, especially since graduating at the peak of COVID. I knew I wanted to pursue creative media in some capacity after graduating and when a mentor reached out to me inviting me to second shoot at a wedding he was filming, I leapt at the opportunity. I knew nothing about the wedding industry, but after the 12 hour day I fell in love with it and I knew this was something I HAD to pursue. I loved the romance, the emotions, and the creative freedom to connect and tell couples stories. It felt like this was something God had created me to do. in 2022 I started taking every opportunity to second shoot for other filmmakers in the area and I did a few styled shoots with local vendors which ultimately led to my first booking in March 2023.
I worked at a country club for two years while building my business up through working on my skills, knowledge, and connection with local wedding vendors. I eventually went full time April 2023, moved to Rome, Ga, got married myself in 2024, and all of my experiences has only strengthened my passion in what I do.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I first started, it was very easy to stay motivated because it felt like my business was growing exponentially. It felt easy to grow from the bottom, charging only a few hundred and slowly increasing as my experience grew. I had a lot of success in the budget market where many couples saw my value for the price tag. Eventually, I found myself hitting a wall at the end of 2023. I was feeling burnt out at the number of weddings I was taking on in order to make a living at the prices I was charging.
I was having a hard time feeling fulfilled and I knew something needed to change. Some of my close vendor friends suggest that I invest in a mastermind course and grow my knowledge. I signed up for a year-long course by How to Film Weddings in 2024 and it was the best thing I could have done to re-ground myself in my “why”.
I had no previous experience or knowledge on the business and marketing side of my career and was leaning heavily that my work would speak for itself, but that only took me so far. After learning how to really take time to figure out my brand and how to speak to the right couples, I was able to find myself in a market better suited for myself. 2024 was a big growth year for me, and 2025 has been super exciting since my calendar is full of couples that *really* connect with me and have the same values. I am so excited to get to serve all my couples this year!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am primarily a wedding videographer, but have recently really enjoyed doing a little lifestyle photography on the side as well. I love the little intimate moments in life. My mom was always one to find beauty in everything and I really admired that. That’s what my work is all about. The beauty of a moment, big or small. My films are a collection of documentary driven shots with an eye for beauty. Beautiful shots coupled with natural emotional moments and the small details that really aren’t that small at all create a work of art that I hope retells the wedding day story like how a movie feels.
I don’t pose so much or interrupt a moment. I’d rather move myself to find the best angle. I’d rather be a fly on the wall.
I’ve also been known to over shoot lol! Some of the best moments on a wedding day happen when you think the moment is over. Like a first look with a bride and her dad. Most people may stop recording or taking pictures once the initial reaction is captured, but I wait and let the nerves calm and more often than not, it becomes a really sweet moment of shared words between the two.

All of this gives the couple a film that they can truly look back and tell themselves: “I LIVED this” instead of seeing photos and videos that looked like they were taken only from pauses of what they lived.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My mom was someone who made my childhood very magical and full of beauty. She’s always been a big inspiration to me. As a family, we all loved Disney. All the movies, the parks, and characters. I can’t remember how young I was, but I remember we would visit the Disney store at Town Center and there was a King Louie stuffed animal that I really wanted. I remember I would tell the stuffed animal my home address each time, hoping that maybe he would use magic to come visit me. This in itself should tell you how much my mom brought magic into our lives!
Christmas morning came and we opened all our presents and we hear the doorbell ring. I’m prompted by my parents to go open the door. and King Louie is sitting there. He had remembered my address and come to see me!
This wasn’t a grand or expensive gesture on my parent’s part, but it was so meaningful to me then and still today. My life was full of moments like this. Small, beautiful memories. and all together add up that make me see life the way I do now.
