Today we’d like to introduce you to Susan Garmon-Stab.
Susan, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started my career in the beauty industry designing for a cosmetic brush manufacturer. The desire to pursue my own business was always there, but it took some time to decide where to begin. Once I established what products I wanted to focus on I took a leap of faith. I quit my full-time job to take my business full time. I currently freelance to pay the bills, but the flexibility has given time to work on Garmon Studios.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Every transition has its rough patches. An ongoing obstacle now and for the future is understanding what the customer wants and how to create products that meet those demands.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Garmon Studios – what should we know?
Garmon Studios is an Art, Home Decor, and Accessories brand. I am currently known most for my resin work. As a company, I would say I am most proud of my desire to create objects that spark joy. I believe whenever possible you should select products that bring joy to your life. I don’t think functional objects should be boring.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I feel that integrity, tenacity, and passion are really important to success. People really respond to genuine authenticity in storytelling and brand content.
