Swangela, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As a child growing up beauty was everything to me. I love fashion, hair, and nails. After high school I went to college then I decided to go to Nail School. Then my career started in the beauty world doing nails. I’ve worked as a nail tech in the beauty industry within beauty salons, spas, and the entertainment world. Shortly after that, I decided to advance my career into the Skin Care business by doing Lashes so I went back to school and obtained my Esthetician license. Now I was ready to branch out and open my own business Swan Skin And Nail Spa which consist of all your beauty needs: nail care, lash, Extensions,facials,waxing, Microblading, eye extensions and Swan’s Training Classes:Swan’s Eyelash Extension Training Class and Swan’s Eyebrow Extensions Training Class and Swan’s Microblading Training Class…Also while in my career I now have my own polish line Swan Nail Lacquer and my own Eyelash And Eyebrow Extension Line….in all I have been in the beauty business for over 20 years and Swan Skin and Nail Spa has been open for almost 5 years…now I will be opening Swan’s Lash and Brow Salon by Spring 2017
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, it was not a smooth road the first two years of opening Swan Skin And Nail Spa. Just learning how to operate the business financially and finding the right staff was my biggest struggle because my business took off so fast…

My business offers a variety of services…we offer nail care services, ..facials, waxing services, massages, eyelash extensions, eyebrow Extensions, & Microblading brows. At the moment I am doing lash Extensions and Microblading services. But I am mostly training others on how to do Eyelash Extensions, Eyebrow Extensions and Microblading Services. I am most proud of being able to bring an upscale business to the south side of Atlanta without having to go into the city. I take pride in my work and I am a giver and I love to share my expertise and help others grow in the beauty business.
What were you like growing up?
I am very outgoing, very friendly will talk to anyone. I love to encourage and motivate others. I always try to treat others the way I would want to be treated. I tend to draw friends easily and people always call me for advice
