Meet Sylvia White & Allie Peterson of Passion fur Pups in Peachtree Corners

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sylvia White & Allie Peterson.

Sylvia, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
7 years ago Allie and I met at Blue pearl GVS in Sandy Springs, Georgia working with thousands of sick and injured pets. We became good friends over our passion to help treat and rescue animals. After many years of hard work and long shifts at the hospital, we realized we both shared a passion for entrepreneurship. Subsequently, we started making arrangements to Open a Dog grooming salon. Passion Fur Pups was founded this year by myself and my best friend Allie Peterson. We had so many experiences with dog owners who were unhappy with their grooming at the time and it occurred to us that we could offer a better alternative to grooming today. Although we are modern, we still hold old fashion work values and ethics in accordance with canine wellness and health standards. We are one of the first grooming salons to offer a stress-free alternative with hypoallergenic options in grooming. Myself being a veterinary Oncology and Surgical technician for 10 years, use my abilities and education to provide a safe and comfortable environment for our pups. After working so closely in a hospice setting for dogs I value each pet as it were my own. Allie having 6 years’ experience and doing mobile services wanted to open in the Peachtree area being familiar with this community we fell in love with its charm and people. So, we made a plan to open a new age salon that will change the view of dog grooming in a positive way. We currently educate our customers on wellness options for their pup and any help we can provide in ensuring a better quality of life for them and their dog.

Has it been a smooth road?
It was a very challenging avenue for us, me being a new mom and both of us being young most financing was not available to us, so we had to come out of pocket and spend our savings to Open Passion fur Pups, LLC. Even with many unexpected obstacles we have persevered and rose above our circumstance.

So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Passion fur Pups story. Tell us more about the business.
We are a full-service dog grooming salon and dog wash. We offer a la carte options as well via nail dermal etc. I am an active operator handling all business and financial management also bathing at times whatever the girls need. Allie is our head groomer and grooming manager. She also co-owns the business with me making us a great team. We are known for are stress free approaches and speed grooming. Also, having private grooming with cage free options for a small fee appointment based. I am most proud of how our services really shine through we will go the extra mile and strive for happy clients and pets. What sets us apart is this is really a business that cares about the customer and will work hard to suit the needs of our pups on an individual basis every dog is different and is treated with respect no matter the circumstance.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see us still having our main salon in PTC, but maybe having mobile options for our elderly or disabled clientele to pick up and drop off or have options to get their pup here. I also see us maybe opening a sister salon to reach our clients a little closer to Atlanta. The trend of our mission statement hopefully adopted by the community and dog owners alike for safe, relaxing grooming.
