Meet T. Anthony Monie

Today we’d like to introduce you to T. Anthony Monie.

Thanks for sharing your story with us T. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I came from very humble beginnings. A single teenage mother raised me in low-income housing in one of the worse drug-infested neighborhoods in Dayton, Ohio. My grandmother was her only support system though our family was very dysfunctional. My mom did her best with five children by herself and no man to help her. But she finished high school and college and became the role model I needed to escape my environment. My mom kept me in the books away from the streets. I enrolled in the Cleveland School for the Performing Arts at 10 yrs old in the 5th grade in Dayton. Not only did I find my passion there, but my dreams also became bigger than me! I wanted to take my family out of the hood. So I decided to do it through my artistry.

Times had started getting tough for my family at that time, with little money. We were evicted from our home and forced to live in an even worse side of town. I was getting jumped and beat up every day by neighborhood kid gangs trying to initiate me. I wasn’t interested but almost fell victim! I fought back eventually they left me alone. I had to prove to myself that I wasn’t weak. I knew it had to be a better life somewhere out there for us.

After I finished high school, I met my music mentor, Mr. James price who believed I had enough talent to make it big in the entertainment industry! He had worked with big acts in the past like the Ohio Players and Roger Troutman both groups from Dayton. He told me for you to find the success you must leave Dayton, Ohio fast his suggestion was Atlanta!

So I moved to Atlanta with Clark Atlanta University in mind, with only $500 in my pocket following my dreams. I wanted to be a famous singer, songwriter and actor. So that I can take my family out of the hood. I wrote and produced a lot of music for years. I promoted myself on the Atlanta music scene working on my album but found little to no support. I never gave up, though. I knew that nothing worth dying for would come easy.

For years I struggled! I worked jobs to pay for studio time and travel to live. Nothing seemed as if I was going to happen. My dreams started to look more and more like a nightmare. I got a few gigs on television and I started writing music for other people. But that still wasn’t bringing enough money to live right. I became broke and broken. I was hungry and hopeless by now. I was even homeless.

Three years of living without nothing not even clothes and shoes at times. I’d lost everything, including my love for music. My family didn’t even know what I was going through at the time. I was so embarrassed and upset with myself at the time. I didn’t know where to go or what to do. People I thought were friends turned their backs on me. People who I thought loved me talked and said terrible things about me even on social media mocking my situation. So I separated myself from everyone and did the only thing I could do, I turned yo God.

I prayed but at this time, I prayed hard and intentionally! Asking for forgiveness, guidance, wisdom and opportunity. At that time I was cohabitating with a woman I was dating, who I didn’t even like but I needed a place to stay. We lived in the worst part of Atlanta the Bankhead area. I was sitting on the couch one night at approximately 1am. God spoke to me and said, “walk son!” He was calling on my life, I didn’t understand it, but I was obedient. That night I walked from Bankhead to Midtown train station. That was the longest, coldest, wettest, scariest night of my life. God showed me that no matter how bad it may seem, that I could make it through anything if I just walk through my journey and push past the pain.

I went to church one day and met a prophet. She said, “You are supposed to be on the stages of the world but it won’t be for singing!” She gave me God’s instructions that day. At that moment, I knew that those dreams I had as a kid on stage were real so I retook action now at 36 yrs old.

Network Marketing had fallen into my lap a few years prior but now it had come back again. A good friend of mines, Robin Robinson, introduced me to an opportunity. I knew I had to invest something though I was broke! God said, “have faith son!” So I became resourceful, reached out to some old friends and borrowed $50 from 6 people. I invested that same day and got started. This was the beginning of my now breakthrough as an entrepreneur.

My business took off fast! Just when things started looking up. I got the news that my beloved grandmother was dying. It broke my heart so I moved back to be with her in her last days. I got a call from Robin about the national convention in Las Vegas, another opportunity to build my business. So I scrapped up a little cash and made my way there—That’s where I met my business mentor & coach, Dame Dr. Nicola Smith-Jackson.

Nicola is one of the most powerful women in Network Marketing. I knew under her leadership that I could become a powerful leader in this industry. She taught me that leadership is the highest-paid position in the world. She also taught me the core principles of business and the servitude of God’s people. She lead me to believe in myself like never before. Through her mentoring and love for people, I have become one of the most influential people in the industry of Network Marketing in just three short years. I thank God every day for her with her master business strategies. I wouldn’t be here.

Now the mentee has become the mentor. I mentor thousands of people in my organization all over the nation. My business is a Financial Literacy Company, where we educate people on matters of personal finances. I coach and mentor people who want to start a business and build a legacy.

My business currently does $500,000 in sales revenue every month, $12,000,000 a year. I live in a beautiful condo in the Brookhaven area of Atlanta and drive the luxury car of my dreams. My mother no longer works and her home is paid in full. It’s time for me to take care of her. My brother and 3 sisters have all followed in footsteps and became successful in their own rights. I’m now a national speaker on stages all over the nation. I inspire people to follow their dreams and never give up!

I’m currently working on my non-profit mentoring program “The Euna Thompson & Jame Price Foundation,” named after my late high school choir teacher who helped me find my voice even in bad times and my music manager & mentor. I’m helping struggling artists build an income, learn the business while they work on their dreams. Giving back to the community who helped shaped me. I’m just a little old boy from Dayton, who had a dream to make it big, moved to Atlanta, GA., and that dream came true. Why be a struggling artist, when you can be famous today! T. Anthony Monie. T. Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
