Today we’d like to introduce you to Talia Holmes Mrozinski.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Talia. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was raised on the strong southern tradition of home cooking, family, and hospitality. I had the happy blessing to have a mother and grandmother that made the kitchen the heart of the house. My grandmother made sweet ice cups and ice cream cones during the summer and I quickly learned my passion for ice cream. I remember times when people would ask me for my favorite food, throughout my life, the answer has always been “ice cream.” I didn’t think of adding alcohol until I had an infused shake in Vegas.
Sweet Joy is my mission to bring the joy of homemade ice cream, freshly prepared and specialty mixes of alcohol fusion to the public. I just want to share my joys with others through ice cream and smiles. Just like my Mother’s kitchen was home to fond memories and wonderful tastes, I want your experience in Sweet Joy to give you relief from the busy world. Take a few minutes to chat with friends, enjoy the latest dessert concoction, or hide in the corner seat with your favorite Sundae.
Has it been a smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road but no journey should be. The hardest part was getting started and scared to work the journey on my own. I found great resources along the way to help me through. I couldn’t have done it without my husband and the ACE Women’s Business Center. I’ve appreciated the lessons learned and am prepared to be the big boss I was born to be.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Sweet Joy Ice Cream Bar story. Tell us more about the business.
Sweet Joy is the place to make fond memories of time with friends while enjoying great homemade ice cream, sweet treats, and intoxicating delights. We prepare a perfect blend of creamy homemade ice cream using only the best quality, creating pure, tasty indulgence. We love ice cream and we love different, so our menu is ever-changing. We love trying new flavors, so we try new flavors often and ask customers to give us desires for new inspiration.
The fact that we make alcohol-infused ice cream definitely sets us apart. The tipsy flavors can be enjoyed by 21+ adults, while the kids enjoy the regular awesome flavors. We have a large indoor and outdoor space for family parties/gatherings, meetings, and social clubs. I’m so proud to be able to share homemade ice cream goodness in our community circle.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
We have plans to open multiple locations throughout the Atlanta area and plans to offer soft swirls. We’re developing a leadership program for our young employees to encourage and inspire.
