Meet Tamala Coleman of TC PRAISE PRODUCTIONS

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamala Coleman.

Tamala, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My journey started as a little girl. Like many people, I was a little girl with a dream that seemed impossible to reach, yet in reality, I never knew it would come fruition later in my life. Sometimes our dreams are only dreams. It takes faith and the endurance to see it come to past. I always knew within my heart that I was going to do something great with my life.

As a little girl I was bullied a lot in school, and unfortunately, it continued through most of my school-age years even into high school. So anyone who has been bullied which is very prevalent and wide-spread today can understand the frustration and the humiliation that comes with bullying.

Although times have changed bullying is still the same when you experience it. I kept a notebook that I would write my feelings down on I guess you can say I let the pen speak for me and through me. Writing kept me grounded and most of the time secure. My mother would buy pencils and notebook paper for school, and that’s what I used to write things down on, and I kept it all to myself.

Many years passed before I really started to write again after high school. I had to endure some things and go through a period in my life until God said ok this is the appointed time and the time is now. In 2005, I was in a good place, my husband and I were newly married, and I was feeling good about where I was in my life.

One day I decided to write a poetry book “Spiritual Expressions” which was published in 2007 then thereafter, my second book was published “Divine Women of God” then the next one “Donovan Shoes” and “Woman in the Mirror” and shortly after a collaboration book as a Co-Author “Unleashed Travails” From Pain to Purpose. Currently, working with a World-wide of Co-Authors for a 365-day Women’s Devotional. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined doing any of this. Amazing isn’t it? As a writer, there are so many opportunities that can develop and achieved through our creativity.

One day my husband and I were at a stage play here in Atlanta, as I sat on the front row up close and personal a light bulb suddenly lit up for me. I can remember sitting at my kitchen table the next day writing titles and character names down, within one week I had written over 30 pages of my first stage play which was performed the following year entitled “Lord Change My Heart” under MoveNewz Productions at the 444 Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia which is now a Short Film.

Shortly after my stage play was done and over, I decided I wanted to start my own small production company, within three months I was registered ready to move forward with TC Praise Productions, LLC. I still can’t believe it sometimes, but there is an appointed time for everything.

So in 2015, my second stage play “He Who Finds a Wife, Finds a Good Thing” was produced in Atlanta and was a great success. Currently, producing my third stage play “Picking Up the Pieces,” I am so thankful! There are so many dreamers who feel as though that dream will never come to pass; it may seem as though all hope is gone or it’s taking too long.

Of course, I felt the same way, and I said the same things, but I continued to push forward. Just a little encouragement-You must believe in yourself, Trust God, stop listening to Nay-Sayers and listen to God and walk by faith.

Has it been a smooth road?
I must say it has not been a smooth road or a smooth journey. I had to endure many setbacks even years of setbacks, denials, and closed doors and many different obstacles stood like giants before me, but it was the endurance, perseverance, and determination that kept me from giving up.

TC Praise Productions, LLC is a Faith-Based business that is also based on Faith, Honesty, and Integrity. We establish and produce stage plays that will encourage and inspire and also sends a message to our audience.

We are most proud to have assisted Actors Experienced as well as Inexperience start their careers and help achieve their goals and make their deepest dreams come true by performing in productions. TC Praise Productions, LLC is set apart because of the types of productions we produce.

Which are sharing the goodness of Jesus and love for our fellow brothers and sisters, We maintain lifelong relationships with those who become a part of our shows we are like family.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Atlanta is the place to be for many. It is a great place to not only live but the visit. I love the History behind Atlanta, Georgia. Whether you live here right now or not there are many who went to school here and were born and raised in Atlanta. There are deep roots in Atlanta. Atlanta is a great city.

What I dislike the most about Atlanta is the crazy traffic and the rising crime in the surrounding areas. The downtown one-way streets etc. truly give me a headache. I’m not a city girl, so I’m not in the downtown area as much as I used to since I’ve gotten older, although I worked in Atlanta for over 20 years and went to school in Atlanta.

This would be the only thing I dislike about Atlanta. Otherwise, Atlanta is a great place.
