Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamara Donaldson.
Tamara, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Europe, Germany and always had a passion to help, heal and comfort. As a former Veterinary Technician, I learned that many connections and aspects of the healing process depend on an exchange of energy as a universal form of communication and affiliation.
The goal being, to promote synchronicity of mind, body and spirit as a whole to archive optimum wellness. Ultimately exploring this concept deeper, is what led me to find my passion to do Holistic Massage, Energy Work and to adopt a more conscious lifestyle for myself.
I graduated from Gwinnett College Rising Spirit Institute of Massage with great honors and a National Neuromuscular Certification through the International Academy of Neuromuscular Therapies. I have since incorporated additional modalities to expand my vision and services.
I self-employed in January of 2017 and rented a shared space from a fellow therapist.
My practice soon outgrew its original space. After several weeks of looking for the ideal location, demolition renovation and lots of paper work, Sacred Body Works re-opened its doors inside of the Atlanta Holistic Wellness Center in May of this Year.
It has been a very fast paced journey and I am looking forward to growing in this new, beautiful space I created with my two business partners Dawn Sutton of Two Hands, Two Feet and Francisco Vega.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Completing that very long, daily checklist of things that need to be done to ensure that your business continuous to flourish. Sharing responsibilities with my business partners Dawn and Francisco has made this much easier, kept things balanced and allowed me to continue operating a full schedule while transitioning into my own spa.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Sacred Body Works- Atlanta Holistic Wellness Center – what should we know?
The spa offers a wide variety of different modalities such as Swedish, Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy, Holistic Wellness Services such as Reiki, Reflexology, and V-Steams, Thai Massage and Ashiatsu. I do spa-parties and business events. We currently have 3 rooms for rent and are looking to fill them with a qualified Chiropractor, Acupuncturist and an Esthetician who share a similar approach to a natural way of wellbeing.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Determination, a great understanding of customer service, the ability to value your clients’ needs and concerns and the willingness to meet them.
