Meet Tamara Perdue

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamara Perdue.

TAMARA PERDUE

Hi Tamara, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started 11 years ago, graduating nursing school in Ohio. I moved to GA assigned by God, and acquired my license in GA. I’ve been here acquiring specialized critical care and intensive care, hospice and case management nursing experience. During Covid, I founded my Healthcare Staffing Agency, Abundance Healthcare Staffing Network. The staffing agency has three vendor contracts now after three years. After overcoming a dark season in life with therapy, I founded Beautiful Abundance Medspa. I’ve helped a lot of women overcome the personal esteem issues that may have delayed them from showing up in the world as they see fit.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No. I moved to GA with very little support and left my closest family behind. I became a single mother and a new nurse at the same time. I overcame physical and emotional abuse. While starting my agency, I invested my last dime into mentorship to launch my agency. I did a travel assignment during Covid which changed my mindset towards hospital nursing, and I made it a duty to send nurses who care just like I do to serve in the hospitals and and care for the patients. I’ve had to go back to 9-5 working to support myself and reinvest into my business. Along the way, I’ve been teaching my daughter what a soft, independent woman looks like.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am currently a hospice nurse. I’m known for my compassion and patient advocacy.

What matters most to you? Why?
My daughter’s outlook on life as a woman. I believe I was called in my family to break generational curses and strongholds off my family. We have five generations of women, only three boys now, the youngest is four. As women in my family, we have to live a life of intent and purpose by knowing and standing in our self-worth. I had never seen a woman in business in my family before. I never seen a woman truly happy and successful in my family when I was growing up, so it’s my duty to show my daughter and my nieces and sisters what that looks like. It’s not easy at all, but it’s my purpose
