Meet Tambeara Watkins of Freedom House Publishing, LLC in Decatur

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tambeara Watkins.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
As a young person, I was an avid reader, writer of poetry, and even winning writing contests and being published in our school system newspaper called the Purple Cow at that time. My love for reading and writing is God-inspired; a gift cherished. The ability to poetically group words together to ignite any emotion that you desire is magical.

As a writer, my passion for creativity began at Carver High School with my language arts teacher. She introduced me to a world that I would grow to cherish, later it was coupled with life’s experiences that created the published author of several books. My book publishing company was started to publish my books, but a few years later, it was launched to the public as a platform for other writers to share their story.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I began writing, published author to the founder of a book publishing company. No, it wasn’t easy. The moment you decide to follow your passion as a career. You are bombarded with all sorts of reasons why it will not work, and people will try to tell you that the thing you are passionate about is just a hobby. The journey to pursuing your passion, you are breaking through so many limiting beliefs that it’s not possible to have a career working your passion.

Today, we see so many people doing what they love and getting paid to do it, yet somehow when it comes to us; the limiting beliefs kick in. The most important thing you can do when starting your journey to pursuing your passion is to research and plan. I had to overcome the fact that my creative love for all things had chosen me. I had someone tell me to keep my job and put my dream on hold. What they don’t understand is that you can’t put a dream on hold. The moment it forms into an idea, the passion for it is like a snowball growing bigger and bigger inside of you. When you have ideas inside of that wants to live, it will not leave you alone. If you are a designer, then the passion intends to design, if you are a writer, then it wants to write, a dancer wants to dance, and the teacher wants to teach.

I had to decide how I would explore my creativity through writing and designing. Then I got a plan, researched, then executed in the smallest ways. Later it grew into a business. So, no it’s not easy, but it’s necessary. Not only does the passion for doing what you do belongs to you, but its apart of who you are. You have the responsibility to produce and bring it forth during your lifetime.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Freedom House Publishing, LLC – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others
We are the SCHOOL FOR YOUNG WRITERS PROGRAM offered by Freedom House Publishing, LLC.

We take an ordinary youth and develop them into a published author and leader in the community by going through our writing program. The writer will learn how to create and write their story, design their book cover, editing technique, and publish their books on Amazon.

We have available ongoing classes for the writer like, building your brand to extend beyond books to additional products that will serve the community, the book club instructed by the youth. They will learn to focus attention on writing skills, how to market and sell their book. And finally, a book signing to make a sale and to bring awareness and conversation about their published book and the cause they support.

In our former writing groups, the youth wrote about issues they struggled within school and home. The stories ranged from dealing with Tourette Syndrome as a teenager. A teen whose parents divorced and remarried. Fighting in school and how they turned it into something positive. My skin is beautiful is a young lady who was dealing with her dark-skinned completion and the image shaming behind it. They were all breaking out of limiting beliefs about themselves.

We teach value and self-worth, the youth matter in society, how to make a difference in their community, to be a leader, and to produce instead of consuming.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Within five years, Freedom house Publishing dominating the youth publishing industry with our school for young writers’ curriculum and expanding to several locations within Georgia, throughout the school system and the juvenile system. We will not stop until every young writer has explored their creativity through our program and made an impact in their community.
