Meet Tameka Anderson of Create It Kids Club in Roswell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tameka Anderson.

Tameka, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I love children. No, scratch that. I love to empower children. As long as I can remember I have surrounded myself with children. Whether it was providing babysitting services to the single moms in the area, volunteering during the children’s church, VBS or children’s choir, nannying for wealthy families, becoming a court-appointed advocate, and ultimately a specialty foster parent, I’ve done it all.

I remember being a little girl and having so much personality however it was stifled due to the adults in my life not understanding how to properly nurture and push me to reach my potential. Well, one woman helped pull it out of me a little by ensuring that I learned four instruments, learned how to cook, clean, sew and crochet and then she also taught me to learn how to be an entrepre-hustler (that’s a term I made up LOL). I started playing the piano for the children’s choir when I was just 13. And I had another side business of making clothing and blankets for people at church. What 13 yr old you know have not one but TWO side hustles? Entrepreneurship was in my blood.

Then I left her home and wandered through life for years. I felt sad, alone, and dismissed. This was my life as a former foster child. I didn’t realize that because I wasn’t living my passion, my hard life, was that much more harder. Well, I didn’t want any child to feel what I felt so I went on a mission to figure out how children learned so I could teach them how to be great. Little did I know that mission would lead me on an adventure of teaching hundreds of children all over the world from every walk of life. That’s when my company was born.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road, as a matter of fact, the bumps have been so hard that I have stopped in the middle of the road, cried and had to be picked up. LOL! I’ve faced all kinds of struggles from trying to figure out how to get started, to changing my business name over and over again, to learning how to market. This business life ain’t for the faint of heart let me tell you that.

Please tell us about Create It Kids Club.
So I’ve been dubbed the “Child Whisperer” simply because if you have a child, there’s nothing I can’t help you with. And I do mean nothing. If your child is having behavioral issues (my specialty) I can help you with some of the most creative ways of dealing with them that you won’t believe that you are actually disciplining the child. LOL!

The child won’t believe it either. I have a way of influencing the child to do whatever I ask (my secret sauce). What sets me apart is my style. I can light up the room with one smile, however, don’t push me because that same smile will be used to put you in your place, respectfully of course. LOL

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Hmmmmm, I would say the memory of me going around memorizing long speeches and performing on stage. I just don’t understand how I was able to master the art of performing at such a young age.

I commanded the stage whenever I walked up. People had no choice but to stand after I would perform because I captivated them. And that’s what I teach children to do now. Captivate.
