Tamika, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Well, I kinda started the journey as an Independent Consultant with Paparazzi Accessories on a whim! I just wanted to be of support to my sister who joined the business a few months prior. All I knew is I NEVER HEARD of this “little” 5 dollar jewelry business, BUT what I did know was these pieces were SUPER CUTE and SUPER AFFORDABLE. One day, my sister said to me “you need to join my team… create some additional and possibly some residual income.” I signed up immediately, but I didn’t really start WORKING MY BUSINESS until a month later. From that day on it has been an AMAZING OPPORTUNITY, not for my life but for 300 plus people in my SUCCESSline.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth road. You’ll have people who will join you on this journey and jump ship before they really get started. As an Executive Director, with a team of over 300. Navigating the personalities, the needs, the expectations can be a tad bit overwhelming. At the end of the day – I said yes to the opportunity and failure is not an option for me. Developing the 80/20 rule in business has helped me tremendously. Focus 80% on me, 20% on my team. Now, we are moving like a well-oiled machine.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Nickel Chic story. Tell us more about the business.
Well, the name of my business is NICKEL CHIC. I am an independent consultant through Paparazzi Accessories. I specialize in selling 5 dollar pieces of fabulousness. LOL! I sell accessories for Men, Women and Little Girls all at a price point which won’t break the bank. I would like to call it your new B.F.F. – BUDGET FRIENDLY FASHIONS.
What I most love about this company? Wow, where can I start? They celebrate successes both big and small, the founders of the company make you feel like you can conquer the world. Whether it’s a call on the phone to say congratulations, winning a free trip to a foreign country by just working your business. Or even the face to face interactions at a day training session or our national convention. The fact is that it has afforded me to do things, live a better life, meet people I would have never met, help my business partners reach a level of success in their own right, PLUS, I watched my sister RETIRE from her Corporate America job at age 42 by just saying yes to this opportunity!! Being connected to this debt-free company is kind of a no brainer.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
