Today, we’d like to introduce you to Tamika Smith. Tamika was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Angelle Morris.
Tamika, thank you so much for joining us today. We’d love for you to bring our readers up to speed – can you introduce yourself and share your story?
When I was diagnosed with Lupus, I started as an accessories model for Noella Grace. Angelle Morris, the co-owner, asked me to join, but I hesitated due to my limited mobility. I questioned my value to the brand and worried about how others would see me. However, Angelle was incredibly understanding. She collaborated with a photographer to modify the poses according to my limitations.
Let’s talk about your work and career – what else should we know?
At Noella Grace, there’s constant room for growth and advancement. I began as an accessories model and quickly transitioned into assisting with operations. Currently, my encompasses marketing, content creation, and working one on one with the models.
So, as we mentioned to our audience earlier, you were introduced to us by Angelle Morris and Noella Grace and we really admire them and what they’ve built. For folks who might not be as familiar, can you tell them a bit about your experience with Noella Grace .
Working with Noella Grace is a wonderful experience because she values your input. She actively seeks input from the team and respects everyone’s thoughts and opinions. Noella Grace is inclusive and welcomes individuals with disabilities, as well as those without prior modeling experience. Angelle collaborates with individuals who may be rejected by other brands due to factors like height, weight, or disabilities. She specifically engages young adults, including males who were raised without a father figure or those who were not accepted in high school because of their interests in the arts instead of sports. Angelle supports them by providing paid modeling opportunities, helping them build their modeling portfolios, and connecting them with agencies, even if they are pursuing higher education.
What I appreciate most about working with Noella Grace is the excellence I get to be a part of. I have personally witnessed the brand’s growth and development, and it has left a lasting impression on me.
