Today we’d like to introduce you to Tammy Taylor
Hi Tammy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started modeling when I signed with The Lyngale Agency (TLA.) As a plus size curvy model, I represent curvy women in print and runway in a positive way. I hope to inspire woman to realize that no matter what their sizes they are still beautiful.
Continuously being told that inspire motivated me to continue my journey and become an author. I am the co author of A Love Story Vol 2: My Journey to Love. My chapter titled The Love I Found. speaks of my past insecurities and how I overcame them to be able to motivate and inspire women to love themselves unconditionally, In addition to that is my nonprofit organization The Weight We Carry Women’s Initiative
We are dedicated to helping women thrive professionally, economically, and personally through a wide variety of initiatives and programs that encourages them to actively pursue their aspirations.
It is my ultimate goal to use my brand to uplift, encourage and inspire women of all backgrounds to embrace themselves and love themselves unconditionally.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This journey has not been a smooth one. My biggest struggle is within myself. I know I am walking in my purpose, but sometimes I feel I don’t deserve to and that’s something that I’m continuously working on and it’s also part of my testimony because I know that this is what I’m supposed to be doing so I will continue to push forward.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I hold many hats and hold several titles, but what I’m most proud of is the fact that I was able to overcome my insecurities. Becoming a model, author and actress has allowed me become an inspiration for women to love themselves unconditionally.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I’m hoping that the fashion industry continues to embrace inclusivity. I am seeing more curvy models doing big things in the industry and I’m so very proud and I hope that I can continue to be an example and inspire women to be the best version of themselves.
