Meet Tara Fowler of Hazel Family Eyecare in Roswell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tara Fowler.

Hazel Family Eyecare was established in 2013. Dr. Tara Fowler enthusiastically opened the doors of Hazel Family Eyecare to provide superior, cutting edge eye care in a warm, neighborhood environment. It was her goal to tailor each patient’s visit so that their individual visual and eye health needs are thoroughly addressed.

We pride ourselves in having a unique mix of boutique frames and a style for everyone. Picking out glasses should be fun and we intend to make it that way.

Our mission and philosophy is simple… we are in business to serve!! Everything else is secondary.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Every new practice has it’s struggles initially with building its patient base and allowing their story to be heard but with persistence and keeping our mission first, our story is spreading and we are growing! It is exciting to be doing well but new obstacles arise all the time, as with any growing business. Keeping a progressive mindset has allowed us to make changes as we see fit to best provide for patients and keep their experiences consistent at all levels of service.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Hazel Family Eyecare – what should we know?
We provide superior eye care including vision exams and fitting and prescribing of eyeglasses and contact lenses. We also provide eye health services including diagnosing and treating of ocular disease such as glaucoma, dry eyes, abrasions, infections, and other emergency eye care. We co-manage with ophthalmologists for cataract and LASIK surgeries.

Dr. Fowler is residency trained in ocular disease so she has a vast understanding for managing eye health and treating eye disease and enjoys this part of the practice. She also has developed a special interest for advanced contact lens fittings such as scleral and other gas permeable lenses. These lens fittings provide optimal vision for irregular shaped corneas as seen in patients with high amounts of astigmatism, keratoconus, and post LASIK procedures.
