Meet Tara Towler Cumby of Towler Counseling

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tara Towler Cumby.

Tara Towler Cumby

Hi Tara, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hey! I am Tara Towler Cumby, LPC CPCS CMAC; I am the owner of Towler Counseling and Atlanta Mindfulness Therapy for women. I started my practice in 2010 and started with just myself; over time, I have grown my business.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Significant challenges and substantial rewards have marked my journey in my therapy business. I began on my own and soon expanded by renting out additional offices in my suite. As demand grew, I realized the need to take on associate therapists to accommodate the waitlist of clients seeking quality care. I started hiring and training new therapists as contractors, imparting the knowledge and expertise I had gained in the trauma and addictions field to ensure they could provide excellent support to our clients.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about Towler Counseling LLC?
At Towler Counseling, we offer professional counseling virtually all over the state of Georgia and in person at our office in Sandy Springs, Georgia. We are right outside Atlanta, close to Perimeter Mall. Our goal at Towler Counseling is to help you through your journey of wanting to make the changes you have longed for. Our licensed counselors are passionate about helping the Sandy Springs and metro Atlanta community.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
Some of my favorite podcasts are Modern Therapists Survive Guide, The One Inside: An IFS podcast, and We Can Do Hard Things. So many books have helped me in the process as a therapist.
