Today we’d like to introduce you to Tasha Askew.
Hi Tasha, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Whew! Now that’s a loaded question, but to make it brief, my journey started with Holy Spirit telling me to resign from my career! I’d worked in the entertainment, public relations, & communications industry as far as CNN & Time Warner, as well as under the former Obama administration & for the former First Lady. I’d also worked as a high-performing classroom teacher in several school districts, & that is where I resigned after many years.
From there, my story is quite the whirlwind! As a believer in Christ, a daughter of the King, – I take EVERY SINGLE one of my cues from Holy Spirit to the best of my ability. I spent a lot of years being driven by ambition, success, & my own desires, & this was the pivotal moment where Holy Spirit called me out to walk on that proverbial water.
Listening to Him led me to write my first book, “Teach Supernaturally: 3 Minute Devotionals That Will Transform Your Teaching!” to serve as the go-to resource for parents, teachers, & those who work with youth – to gain transformational results in disciplining & teaching kids & teenagers. It has since been featured in Barnes & Nobles, Amazon, & even Walmart!
From there, I launched two Christian streetwear clothing lines: Drippin’ Proverbs 31 & Faith Walk It Out. Not too long afterward, I began mentoring & coaching women who were having trouble hearing God’s voice & needed help building a close relationship with Him. My reach started to expand globally, so I now only offer that service through a self-paced online course called, “Breakthrough to Intimacy with God.”
During the pandemic, I started doing an IG live series teaching others about the nine gifts Holy Spirit gives us. The interest grew to the point where I wrote an e-book, “Gifts of Holy Spirit” to help people identify specifically which gifts they had been given. The demand was so great, I began doing “Gifts of Holy Spirit Activation Sessions,” where I would personally ask Holy Spirit which gifts someone had & teach them how to begin using & strengthening them.
In 2021, I launched “The Soul Healing Experience” where I teach people how to partner with Holy Spirit to create a plan specifically designed to help you boldly achieve two goals that are unique to you, as you rise above your current circumstances & cultivate a super close relationship with God. During this experience, I work virtually with clients who are struggling to do what God wants them to do instead of allowing fear, shame, rejection, low self-confidence, hurt from the past, people pleasing, & other soul wounds hinder them.
My most recent undertaking has been “Dangerously Awake Daughters of the King Weekend,” which is the in-person official sisterhood of the queens who refuse to settle for less than the life Christ promised! It is only available to the women who have completed the “Soul Healing Experience” & it is a weekend for them to consecrate, celebrate, & connect so they can continue making Kingdom impact! During that weekend, they enter a sacred space to slow down & practice the rhythms of rest so their impact on this Earth can be sustainable.
…& that leads me to where I am at this very moment. Ha! I think I covered the most important details.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all. Whew! Entrepreneurship is definitely NOT for the faint at heart! There have definitely been some curve balls that have come my way, but I do my best in those moments to slow down, calm my emotions, talk to Holy Spirit to ask Him for directions, & remember my “why.” It’s a lot easier to be persistent & consistent when you understand you’ve been sent on a mission by your Heavenly Father Himself, remind yourself of your divine identity, & practice the presence of the angelic & divine assistance that God Almighty has given you.
In terms of what specific struggles….well, as an entrepreneur your social circle often shrinks dramatically or changes altogether. Many people who were closest to me didn’t understand what Abba called me to do, so sometimes that meant my greatest support came from strangers. There was a HUGE learning curve I had to undergo as well because neither my undergrad degree nor my grad degree is in business management or entrepreneurship. At times, the hours were incredibly long & because I’m an incredibly ambitious woman, burnout became real. Burnout really takes a toll on the health of your soul. I’ve learned so many lessons along the way, so I could probably speak on this subject for a while.

I’m most known for the Holy Spirit-led soul healing I do as well as my unconventional & “risque” teaching of the Kingdom of God. I demystify a lot of what most people are taught is the Bible, God, & the Kingdom. I break the Gospel down in such a way that a five-year-old would understand & as would a 60 years old.
I’m most proud of the commitment I’ve made to trusting Abba to fulfill the promises & purposes He has spoken over my life. This journey hasn’t been easy, & there are times when I’ve definitely felt like because of my “qualifications & experience” I could easily acquire a 6-figure paying job working for someone else & make my life a lot easier, but I know that’s not what He has called me to do in this season. I’m committed to being obedient to Him even when I have other options.
I’d say the thing that sets me apart from others is- I have revelation of who I am as Abba’s daughter. When I understood that part-EVERYTHING CHANGED! I don’t do soul healing work because I was “taught” or I learned in school. I do soul healing work because Holy Spirit guides me very specifically with every single client He brings to me. I do it from a place of understanding my identity & inheritance as a Kingdom kid. Soul surgery can’t be learned at a college or university. It has to be taught by Holy Spirit.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I have an insatiable appetite for learning, so this is a tough one to narrow down. I’ve always had a voracious curiosity for wisdom & knowledge ever since I was a child, so I’m steadily consuming information. I know facts about some of the wildest topics. LOL.
As far as books, my number one is hands down-The Bible. It has answers for everything you could ever imagine! The key is to begin with a Bible translation you can actually understand. Otherwise, you’ll just be frustrated & eventually tap out. Trust me, I’ve been there & done that. Start simple & start slow.
I have a HUGE assortment of books on my bookshelf, but if I had to pinpoint a few, I’d say material written by Dr. Myles Munroe, Joyce Meyers, Stormie Omartian, Dr. Tony Evans, & Casey Treat. I also love books like “The Miseducation of the Negro” & “The Measure of A Man.”
I like to “touch” the knowledge I consume, which is why I prefer books over podcasts, but I’ll listen to a podcast here & there, especially the ones I’m invited to speak on. I’ll listen to several episodes to ensure we’re a good alignment.
