Meet Tasha Scott

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tasha Scott.

Tasha, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m from a small town in Kentucky. I’ve been a lover of hip hop all my life and always knew I’d work in the industry in some way. In college, I started making beats. I also learned a lot about management while I went on the road with my best friend who was the biggest DJ in Kentucky at the time. Before graduating, I fell very ill and a tumor was discovered inside my brain. The tumor was so massive that it damaged my left eye, causing that eye to go blind. This was traumatic and life-changing for me, and I went through a bit of depression.

While hiding from the world, I discovered blogging, eventually creating SheBloggin.com. I took my opinions and love for hip hop and created my own platform to release my thoughts. My site helped me come out of depression a lot, especially after receiving so many fans and supporters. While my site took off, I began working with artists, helping them with public relations and marketing. After some years, I went on to work with Waka Flocka, Lil Scrappy, Nina Sky, and more. Present-day, I manage Mantiz, an artist/producer who’s worked with Da Baby, Rico Nasty, Jack Harlow and more. I created a public relations and creative marketing business named Lotti Creatives, and my site is still going strong.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Not at all. Being a woman in this industry comes with a lot of frustrations. You have to fight to be taken seriously, and it can be difficult at times trying to build the relationships necessary to help your people. But when you have a sincere passion, you find ways to make it happen.

What else should our readers know?
Lotti Creatives is a public relations and creative marketing company. We offer a variety of PR services, consultation, and campaign building. My passion is helping artists cross the finish line, but I will always be a blogger. SheBloggin.com gave me my start. My site is what allowed me to build the relationships that I’ve built in the industry. It became like a staple in the independent music industry and a lot of artists rocked with me. To this day, I have long life friendships because of a post on my site, a review I did, or a tweet I sent out supporting good music.

I’m different because my intentions are sincere. What I do with my business is not about making a lot of money, the most important goal is to help. My services are cost-efficient because I’m a human and I know that times are hard and sometimes we just need a helping hand.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
When I have made a positive difference in someone’s life. To me, success is not defined by how much money you made or how many awards you’ve won, it’s about contributing to our communities and making a positive difference.
