Tasha, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Hi, my name is Tasha Williams and I am the owner of Best Dressed Beauty Company. I’m a mother of nine, and I have been happily married for the past 12 years. Being a mother of nine I have decided to homeschool my children for the past nine years with amazing results. In 2016 I created a Gel polish line called Best Dressed Nail Lacquer. However, to my pleasant surprise, the hustle was only beginning. I quickly found out that for my business to prosper the way I truly envisioned; I would need international selling capabilities. So I jumped on a plane and flew overseas to visit a plethora of international vendors. With no exact mentor or guide, I let God lead my steps as I exited the plane for the first time. I am kind of different in that way, it is not that I necessarily enjoy taking the road less traveled; as much as I have seen the benefits yielded through hard work, and dedication to my dreams. My husband and I recently opened an upscale nail salon in the Vinings/Smyrna area. Our doors first opened on July 18th, 2019. After almost a year of buildout; we are in love with the results, and we know you will be too. At our Best Dressed Nail Salon we are fully committed to leaving each and every customer Pampered and Polished. Being a mom of so many and having to juggle family and business has been a wonderful opportunity for me to grow as a woman and as an entrepreneur, and we are now expanding our company from gel polish to all things beauty. Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
However luxurious it may seem now, getting here was far from easy. As you may imagine, I am a bit of an idea factory. So when I chose to stay at home to mother nine children, it was a little difficult for me. As much as I loved spending time with my family, internally I struggled. I struggled with feeling stagnant, feeling as if the world was passing me by. However, it was this exact moment in which I thought, why can’t I do both. Thus I began working on Best Dressed Nail Lacquer, and Salon. Three days after signing the lease for the storefront, I found out that my father had passed away. Now it was up to me to step into the role of matriarch, to support my family, not only financially, but emotionally and spiritually as well; the way he did for me. I had no time to lose; I knew he would want me to make this the best possible business it could be, so that is exactly what I did. It wasn’t long after establishing the Salon, that my family was riddled with the news that our five-year-old daughter Chloe was diagnosed with cancer. This information shook our family to the core. We had to completely restructure the way we approached our daily on-goings to ensure that Chloe was receiving the required care. But we would not let this stop us. With a new sense of reason and a renewed sense of purpose, we have continued to grow and will continue to grow year in and year out.

Unlike most nail salons we are a full service salon; we offer massages, waxing, aesthetician services and more. Pampered and Polished is our mission statement, and we achieve this through complete dedication to the individual, meaning other Salons premium experience is our standard, we live to go the extra mile. We believe that good business is built one customer and one bond at a time.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
The Greatest key to our success has been our ability to allocate roles properly between my husband and I. However when separating it is imperative to have all responsibilities and ideologies aligned. You could say my husband is the left brain of the operation, very calculated and meticulous especially when it comes to financing. Thanks to this understanding, I can be freely creative in the planning and design of the business.
