Today we’d like to introduce you to Tatiana Skroskis.
Tatiana, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am a Spiritual coach and practitioner. This was initially not the line of work I had anticipated after I had graduated from American Intercontinental University with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Digital design, but at times it’s very hard to find job placement in Atlanta.
It was the best thing that ever happened to me that the job market at the time was not in my favor and as I began to be a freelance photographer and designer, I found my passion for it not so fulfilling. I deemed myself in a beginning life crisis, and I actually went into the Adult Industry of Atlanta for five years before finding my calling, which was to help people in a different capacity.
I thought I was actually losing my mind, like many people and I wasn’t sure what I was being called to, but I am glad that I followed my intuition which is what now I help many people awaken to.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, it wasn’t a smooth road at all. I have faced much adversity with my family as well as the outside world. Also when you don’t walk a traditional road or path that has been built by our typical work structure, it’s often a very hard thing for people to understand.
The obstacles though were now the best parts and ingredients, and that’s the basis of my work. Helping people help themselves through life’s obstacles, which are often stepping stones to blessings.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I am a spiritual practitioner of the Lucumi tradition, but I run a practical, intuitive healing service. I help people through divination and also helping them understand the tools that divination can provide to helping them solve some of their own problems.
I’m most proud that I didn’t chicken out because the market was a bit saturated with spirituality trending and deciding to do it my own way because I felt there weren’t enough people like me, for me, so I became that.
I’m not really into the woo side of spirituality. I wanted to be a more real-world based, grab life by the balls type of coach and empowered. I’m so proud I got over a lot of my fears and just went for it. People don’t need perfectionism, they need realism.
What were you like growing up?
I was an ambivert just like I am now. A big personality, but very sure of what I didn’t want parts of. For a part of my life, I became quite dimmed because I was told my mouth was a problem as a child. The “children should be seen and not heard” mentality.
My childhood nickname was “Mouth Champion.” I really toned her down for a long time, and upon my awakening, I found my voice again, and I’m so glad I did. A lot of my favorite activities included watching television shows with my parents. Me and my dad had a Friday night ritual of watching Xena and Hercules.
Xena was my favorite, I once dressed up as her for Halloween. The one time I was a Barbie was a terrible experience. I preferred being a ninja, Xena, and once I was Left Eye from TLC. I wasn’t the most athletic, but I still played some sports here and there and enjoyed water guns in the summertime.
Growing up though I was bullied a lot, which is why now I feel I’m like the queen of the underdogs. Lol!
