Today, we’d like to introduce you to Tay Beats. Tay was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented IV Music.
Tay , can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always been around art. I started out doing journalism and film which led me to doing music, searching for beats and instrumentals for my short films and short stories but I just naturally wanted to create my own music especially since I did all of the work for the news packages and short films.
I also used to mod games which led me to discovering FL Studio. From there, I started to record friends and family and I sadly didn’t enjoy it until I learned how to manipulate sound. At that point, I found my love for engineering.
Let’s talk about your work and career – what else should we know?
I’ve gotten to work with some of my favorite artists while also starting and building careers. What sets me apart from other engineers is that I don’t follow guidelines and I’m ushering in a new sound and wave.
So, as we mentioned to our audience earlier, you were introduced to us by IV Music and we really admire them and what they’ve built. For folks who might not be as familiar, can you tell them a bit about your experience with IV.
I love working with IV because there’s three different minds and I enjoy the psychology of creating music. Though they keep me on my toes, every twist and turn is more exciting than the next. I would say Chance is my favorite song by IV at the moment. I started working with IV through Monroe who is a member of the group, I was looking for love but I ended up finding a genuine friend and artist. Naturally, Monroe tied me into the rest of the group and the rest was history.
