Today we’d like to introduce you to Tekoa Savage.
Tekoa, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve been working on Kaeess Nail Polish Since the end of February 2019. I originally didn’t plan on launching until next year but I knew the time was now. I’ve always loved painting my own nails since a very young age. Most recently, I noticed that I would get extremely sleepy and my nose would run while painting my nails. I begin to do research and realized that nail polish has toxic chemicals that causes infertility and respiratory issues. I then decided that I wanted to make my own nail polish. My polish is 10 free of toxic chemical. I can mix and make my polish all night without any breathing issues.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a completely smooth road but it hasn’t been extremely hard either. I believe the hardest part of this journey is hiring people to help you make your dream a reality and they’re not delivering. I just need to continue to search and build the right team of people who wants to help me take my business to the next level. The goal is to make it into retail stores. I need everyone around me to be passionate about reaching the end goal. Different personalities and energies has made this journey difficult.
Kaeess Nail Polish – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
So Kaeess Nail Polish is Handcrafted Nail Polish colors that I personally enjoy. All my colors are bright and bold. My nail Polish is toxic-free and cruelty-free. I also have male models to support the LGBTQ community as well as any man that enjoys nail polish. What sets me apart from other nail polish companies is that I focus on inclusivity Of black women. A lot of these companies may show a few black hands here and there to meet their diversity quota. I give black women like myself the opportunity to see themselves in all shades of colors. I am most proud of the quality of my product. I love all my colors, and I love the support for my consumers.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career so far is the support from the people that follow me on Instagram. I love when people share my photos. I am very proud of the number of sales I had the very first week of launching. I know that if I keep promoting myself and providing a quality product, I’ll be in retail stores in no time.
