Meet Teresa Moody of Lake Wales, Florida

Today we’d like to introduce you to Teresa Moody

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Absolutely!

My journey began at an early age.

As a child, I loved reading the Bible and helping others.

This passion led me to study at a Christian college, Liberty University, where my first major was in Psychology with a Concentration in Christian Counseling, and my second was in Religion.

I took several writing classes and developed my writing skills.

After college, I continued working on my writing and wrote my first book,

“My Faith Brought Me Back,” which was published in May 2017.

I wrote, published, and released my 2nd edition, ‘My Faith Brought me Back’ in September 2024,

This experience improved my writing and taught me how important it is to connect with readers.

Over time, I realized I wanted to write more.

I wrote, published, and released my second book, “Think, Believe, Speak & Achieve,” in January 2021.

Wanting to create something more personal and impactful led me to write and publish my third book, “31 Day Journal: How to Love Me to Life,” released on July 24, 2024.

This book reflects my journey toward self-love and mindfulness, and many readers have connected with it.

I have also always loved music. My first single, “Hallelujah All Praise Belongs to You,” was released on February 1, 2021.

This single inspired me to complete my EP, with the help of God, my Producer, Nathaniel Ware and Vocal Coach Ashley Kimbrough, on September 1, 2024.

To combine my love for writing and music, I created a website, authorteresawaremoody.com, where people can buy my books and music.

This website has helped me reach a larger audience and share my work more interactively.

Today, I’m focusing on expanding my reach through blogging and social media, sharing my personal experiences, and encouraging others on their journey toward mindfulness and self-discovery.

It’s been an amazing journey so far, and I’m excited to see where it goes next.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many journeys, mine has had its share of challenges.

One of the major struggles was balancing my studies at Liberty University with my passion for writing. Juggling multiple majors and developing my writing skills was demanding, and there were times when I felt overwhelmed.

After college, finding the time and resources to write my first book, “My Faith Brought Me Back,” was another significant challenge.

I had to cope with health issues, deaths in the family, and reliving my son’s death while dedicating evenings and weekends to writing.

There were moments of self-doubt and creative block, which made the process even tougher.

It was disheartening at times, but it taught me resilience and the importance of trusting God.

When I decided to combine my love for writing and music, creating and maintaining a website posed technical and marketing challenges.

Learning how to effectively market my books and music to reach a wider audience was a steep learning curve.

Despite these obstacles, my faith in God helped me cope with each struggle. It made me stronger and more determined.

These challenges have provided valuable lessons that have shaped my journey.

The road may not have been smooth, but overcoming these challenges has made the journey incredibly rewarding.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m an author and gospel artist. Dedicated to creating works that inspire and uplift others.

My work focuses on themes of self-love, mindfulness, and faith.

I have written several books, including “My Faith Brought Me Back,” “Think, Believe, Speak & Achieve,” and my most recent release, “31 Day Journal: How to Love Me to Life.”

Each book reflects my journey and aims to help readers on their path to personal growth and spiritual well-being.

In addition to writing, I also create music. My first single, “Hallelujah All Praise Belongs to You,” was released in February 2021.

I have just completed my EP project, which was released on September 1, 2024.

My music is rooted in my faith in God and aims to bring joy and hope to listeners.

What I am most proud of is the positive impact my work has had on others.

Hearing from readers and listeners about how my books and music have helped them through difficult times or inspired them to make positive changes is incredibly rewarding.

What sets me apart from others is the personal connection I bring to my work.

My writing and music are deeply influenced by my own experiences and my faith in God.

This authenticity resonates with my audience and creates a strong bond.

Additionally, I combine my passions for writing and music on my website, authorteresawaremoody.com, where people can find and purchase both my books and music.

Overall, my mission is to use my talents to encourage and uplift others, helping them to find strength and inspiration in their own lives.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I believe taking risks is essential for growth and achieving your goals. Although risks can be intimidating, they often lead to significant rewards and personal development. I think risks should be planned and meaningful, but they’re also opportunities to try new things.

One of the biggest risks I took was leaving my stable job to pursue my passion for writing and music full-time. It wasn’t an easy decision, and it came with financial uncertainty. However, through prayer and guidance from God, I knew I was on the right path.

Writing and publishing my first book, *“My Faith Brought Me Back,”* was another significant risk. Reliving my son’s death was incredibly hard, and it caused me to pause my writing. But my faith, particularly the verse Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” gave me the courage to finish. Sharing such personal struggles with others was intimidating, but I believed in the impact my story could have.

These experiences taught me that taking risks is often necessary to achieve meaningful goals. Challenges come with those risks, but they also bring growth and fulfillment. My faith has been my guide, helping me navigate these decisions with trust and confidence.

While I don’t consider myself a natural risk-taker, I understand that taking calculated risks is crucial to pursuing my passions and dreams. These choices have shaped my journey and allowed me to build a life and career I am truly proud of.
