Today we’d like to introduce you to Teron Foster.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Teron. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve always had a passion for providing professional development and career tips to my friends and family since college. It mainly started my freshman year of college at North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University – I would be approached by peers to help them with rewriting their resume or helping prepare them for interviews with employers for internships.
Graduating from college, I landed my first role as a Staffing Recruiter (crazy huh) so I worked in the staffing industry where I was responsible for consulting with professionals in my area to find them a new job with select employers (I LOVED IT).
After a year and a half, I was promoted to the Talent Acquisition team where I serve as a University Relations Recruiter. Through this role, I found my true passion for helping others and seeing people develop in their careers. I travel week in and week out to different corporate offices, and universities conducting workshops.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Smooth? Good one. Ha! When you’re releasing an idea or something new to a community who has never heard of anything similar. It’s not at all EASY; it was tough a lot of people didn’t understand it, doubted that I would remain consistent, didn’t see the value in it.
Before even releasing my idea onto Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn – I would say what my idea was to some of my peers, I came to the realization that I was seeking affirmation from people who didn’t even matter to me. Stop releasing your dream to people that don’t support you! (I had to learn that QUICKLY)
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the yourcareerguy story. Tell us more about the business.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck hasn’t played any role in my business life – it’s literally been grinding and grinding late nights and early mornings.
