Today we’d like to introduce you to Terrell Marcus.
Terrell, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m from Baltimore born and raised. I always had music in my soul from a young age. My mother uses to play old school music throughout the house all the time. I started writing in my notepad when I was 12 and I knew that I had a way with words and telling deep stories. Whether it’s relationships or my own take on how I see my city and the world as a whole. I want my music to grow and for people to see the other side of the puzzle. Instead of always being one-sided. Lyrics and great content mean everything to me. If I can’t get a clear message or a story from a song. Whether it’s relatable or not. I need to move by it in some way. I see myself continuing to push with my craft and sound to different ears who are willing to listen to my material
Has it been a smooth road?
Not at all. I’ve dealt with money problems in the past and even relationships with people that made it hard for me to be inspired. Even losing some close people due to the violence in my city. I think being to see where you come from and being faced with different challenges makes you the person that you are today.
Please tell us more about what you do, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I’m a hip hop artist. I see myself in the future taking this music to a different height. I’m currently working on a mixtape that will be out on all platforms soon called halfway up the hill.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and the least?
I love my city because we’re really strong and stand out on many different levels. The least thing that I like about our city is the jealousy and violence. I feel like if we stopped the hating and actually come together not only in times when something tragic happens but on the daily we would be better off and have a greater look for the city.
