Meet Thomas Goetz of Lip Candy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Thomas Goetz.

Thomas, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
We’re a band originally forming in New Orleans, Louisiana in October 2017. We immediately began putting out new music and saw success with our two singles, “The Culprit” and “Never Be the Same.” Our sound pulls influence from grunge, garage, punk, blues, pop, singer-songwriter, etc. We began travelling to other cities to perform shortly into our career, landing tours as the opening act for Jimi Hendrix’s brother, Leon Hendrix in the summer of 2018. We also played a sold-out show at the legendary Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles, California that same summer. Since then, we have been playing countless shows in our hometown and have been traveling out to other major surrounding cities including Dallas, Austin, and Atlanta! We are also set to release our next EP in these upcoming months, along with releasing two singles and two music videos. Stay tuned!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. We have experienced falling outs with band members, being scammed by promoters, band fights while on tour, periods of depression and unproductiveness, and being full-time college students WHILE being in a full-time band. We are busy and overwhelmed most of the time to say the least. But we love what we do and we wouldn’t change a thing.

Please tell us about Lip Candy.
We are a high energy rock band that puts out music and plays live all the time! We are particularly known for our incredibly entertaining live show. We go CRAZY. We always give 100% of our energy into our performances and interactions with the crowd. If the crowd doesn’t go home blown away, we haven’t done our jobs correctly.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing. We are so young and no one knows how to do this job 100% correctly. We have figured everything out on our own as we journey through this tough industry and the bumps in the road are inevitable and they are what makes this story so incredible.
