Gammon lives and works from her studio in Atlanta and has three amazing sons who are her greatest inspiration and creative muse.
Art has been my love since 1994. In 2015, I started making jewelry because I was tired of seeing everyone in the same pieces; it became an outlet. After almost 20 years in education, I decided I wanted to turn my passion into purpose and painted everything that had a surface. In 2016, I started painting wooden earrings and it took off!
As time went by, I wanted a larger surface and graduated to canvases. 2017 became the year I risked it all and had my first solo show displaying 25 pieces. My art is a multi-faceted and unpredictable. I am an abstract expressionist who loves color and texture.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
A smooth road, ha! No it has been a rough road, but well worth it! Transitioning from corporate employee to being an artist and now designer; sole proprietor was not received well. It took many nights and days promoting my brand on social media, many craft fairs and social engagements.
To promote my work, I transitioned from canvas to textiles and wore or took my designs EVERYWHERE! I poured every cent I had into my business, MY DREAM!
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Three Dream Designs, LLC – what should we know?
Three Dream Designs, LLC is a known for Livable and Wearable ART! Transitioning my paintings from canvas to merchandise.
Our vibrant colors, “transformation clothing”, unique fabrics and one of a kind earrings set us apart from other artist and boutiques. Our multi-purpose wraps transform from dresses to skirts, to kimonos and also shirts. The dresses we produce are multi-purpose as well: dress to shirt. I have now designed for Bronze Lens Film Festival and my work will debut on August 21. I am in the process of designing for a few local celebrities and fashion designers.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
ADAPTABILITY, CREATIVITY and TENACITY has brought me a very long way! I continue to evolve daily and think outside the box.
Happy to announce that I was selected to design the official merchandise for the 10th Year celebration of BronzeLens Film Festival of Atlanta Superstar Luncheon! My items will also appear in their “Glam Suite”.
