Meet Tiayana Logan of Legacy Rise Academy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiayana Logan.

Hi Tiayana , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always believed that legacy is not something we leave behind, it’s something we build every single day. My journey began as a young girl with a deep love for community and a passion for creating opportunities where others often saw limits. From selling Capri Sun bags and bracelets at age eight to leading operations and opening charter schools across Brooklyn and Atlanta, my path has always been rooted in service, purpose, and resilience.

After years of working in education and seeing the gaps in early learning access and whole-child care, I was inspired to create Legacy Rise Academy, an early learning center in Stockbridge, Georgia. Our mission is to nurture young minds, support working families, and build pathways that help children rise into their fullest potential academically, emotionally, and socially.

The name “Legacy Rise” represents more than just a school, it’s a movement to empower families and create generational impact. Every step of this journey has been fueled by faith, community, and the belief that when we invest in our youngest learners, we invest in a brighter tomorrow for us all.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey has been far from smooth, but every challenge has strengthened my faith, focus, and fire. As a Black woman entrepreneur and mother, building something from the ground up while balancing family, full-time work, and community commitments hasn’t been easy. There were moments when resources were limited, doors were slow to open, and the vision felt bigger than my current circumstances.

Starting Legacy Rise Academy came with unique hurdles, navigating licensing, funding, and finding the right partners who believed in the mission just as deeply as I did. I learned that obstacles are often just invitations to pivot, innovate, and trust the process.

What kept me grounded through it all was remembering why I started, to create opportunities for families and children who deserve more access, joy, and support. Every “no” taught me resilience. Every obstacle became a stepping stone toward something greater.

We’ve been impressed with Legacy Rise Academy , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Legacy Rise Academy is an early learning center rooted in purpose, empowerment, and community. Our mission is to nurture the brilliance within every child while supporting working families through high-quality care, innovative early education, and strong family partnerships.

We specialize in creating a holistic learning experience for children ages 3 months to 5 years that goes beyond academics. Through our Pillars of Legacy, which include arts, STEM, literacy, Spanish, financial foundations, and character development , we focus on developing confident, creative, and compassionate learners who are ready for kindergarten and life beyond the classroom.

What sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to the whole child and the whole family. We see early learning as the foundation of generational change, and every classroom, event, and family touchpoint reflects that belief. From our culturally responsive curriculum to our family engagement programs, Legacy Rise is a space where children are celebrated, families are supported, and communities rise together.

I am most proud that Legacy Rise Academy was built with heart, by a mom, educator, and community advocate who knows firsthand what it means to dream big, overcome barriers, and turn vision into impact. We want readers to know that we’re not just opening doors for children, we’re opening pathways for legacies to rise.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Finding the right mentor starts with knowing your “why.” I’ve learned that mentorship isn’t just about someone who’s ahead of you, it’s about finding people who see your potential even when you’re still growing into it. Some of my greatest mentors came through simple conversations, shared experiences, and showing up in spaces where my purpose aligned with others’ passions.

My advice is to stay curious, stay connected, and stay open. Don’t be afraid to reach out to people who inspire you, even if it’s just to say, “I admire what you’re building.” Mentorship can look like a consistent relationship, but it can also be a moment of guidance that shifts your perspective forever.

Networking, for me, has worked best when it’s rooted in authenticity. I believe that when you lead with gratitude and service, the right people will always find their way into your circle.
